We are spending the day at AK which closes at 6 and we have a ADR at Ohana at 7:10. Can someone suggest the best way there if we want to do a quick stop at POR to change clothes before dinner?

You can take the bus from AK to POR, the bus from there to MK, and then the boat or the monorail to the poly. If you can get changed in about 15 minutes, you should leave AK by 4:45.

Or you could just leave AK at 6:00 and go directly to the Poly without changing, which is what I would almost certainly do.

Most people just go to 'Ohana in their park clothes. If you want to change, but not take the extra hour that a detour to POR would involve, you could take a change of clothes with you. Store them in a locker at AK during the day and then change in the bathroom at the Poly.

This is good advice. That intermediate stop at POR will easily add an hour or more to the trip from AK to the Poly.

Even going directly from Animal Kingdom to Polynesian you do not want to cut it too close. If you leave right at AK's 6PM park closing it may take several buses before you are on your way to the Poly'.

Plus a queue at the lockers to get your deposit back.

I would plan on leaving AK by 5:30....that way you'll avoid the biggest of the departing crush!!! Then, go directly to the Polynesian. I would bring a tote bag with a change of clothes and leave it in a locker. If you really want to change, then you'll have the stuff right there...go to the Polynesian and change there.
The vast majority of us don't bother with changing clothes unless we are going to a signature restaurant!!! At 'Ohana you don't need to be all 'gussied up'. Just bring fresh shirts with you.

If you go to POR from AK??? You will have to wait for the bus (could be 3 mins, could be 20), then the ride of about 20 mins. Walk to your room, freshen up, change clothes, back to the bus stop...about 40 mins. Ride to MK...about 15 mins. Boat or monorail over to the Polynesian....at least 15 mins, could be 30!!! So, that whole thing will be about 90 mins...which means you have to leave by 5:30 in any case, and you'll be stressed out!!! I would just leave then and go directly to the Polynesian.
