Does anyone know if the Tier 2 picnic at the Animal Kingdom is gluten-free? Obviously, the Tier 1 sandwiches wouldn't work, but the rotisserie chicken or ham could be gluten-free. And some of the sides might work, too.

We're heading to WDW late this summer and would love to try out the picnic! I didn't see this on the list of gluten-free foods that I received from Brenda Bennett in the Dietary Restrictions dept, but maybe because the picnic in the in the park is a new offering? Fingers crossed.....

Contact them and they can arrange ahead of time for gluten free foods. Some things are not on the list as they can not always keep the list up to date or the site changes menus too much. In this case it is a new thing so it probably has not made the list yet.

They might be able to do the sandwich as a lettuce wrap or on gluten free bread so talk to them about this also as I had on the 24th a cheeseburger with bacon, ketchup and mustard on lettuce at DLR's Pinocchio Haus. It ws ok but if it had been a Taste' Pilot burger which is thicker and if it had tomatos, onions and pickles then I would not mind lettuce wraps. Lettuce wraps and salads are options for GF meals.

I talked to the DLR chefs yesterday and they said some problems they have with lists are that the manufacturer changes ingredients, they change the products they use and items can at times not be available. They cannot emphasis the use of the ingredient lists and talking to chefs.

the info sheets says to contact the special diets team about allergies-
I have stayed away from the rotisserie chicken - the glaze has wheat in it - most chefs have told me it is NOT gluten free and some have said it's fine-

They have those wonderful tapioca rolls at Disney- I am sure they will make a gluten free meal with no problem for you:)

from allears: "Guests with food allergies should alert the Cast Member when placing their order, who will then contact a chef"
