Hi there! My husband and I will be taking our boys 9 and 6 down the weekend before Halloween for a surprise trip. It is just a short, 3 day trip. We'll definitely be doing the MNSSHP on one day and a full day at EPCOT for Food and Wine on another day. We aren't getting park hoppers because I don't feel like it's worth the hundreds of dollars to split one day between two parks. This leads to my dilemma. We have to choose between the third day being at AK or DHS. My boys (who have been to Disney twice) love AK and it is their favorite park. However, they also like DHS and with Toy Story Land opening this summer, it makes DHS a bit more attractive (definitely more than it is now). Since we are surprising our boys I can't really ask them which they would rather do and I want to make the decision ahead of time. I should add that one boy loves the thrill rides at both parks and the other has a history of being a little timid about rides. So....which would you pick?

Are they Toy Story nuts who know the movies line for line? Because if that' the case, DHS all the way. (but once you get there, you can always change it up if they go but moooooooooooooom we really want to do x)

They have gone through Toy Story phases in the past but are not currently on board the Toy Story obsession train. They do enjoy the movies still though.

If you didn't go to Pandora yet, I would pick AK. The FOP ride is amazing!

DHS will have Star Wars coming out next year, so on your next visit I would go to DHS.

Are you going to a park on your MNSSHP day? Couldn't you do one of them on that day and the other one on your third day and just do MK during the party?

We are pretty much going through this exact same decision. We are actually getting a very short fall break for the first time ever in our calendar next year (and 2019 also). so we are driving down the evening of Oct 3, doing the party on Oct 4th, and then doing one more park day on Oct 5th, driving home Oct 6th. We are skipping Epcot and I knew the other park day would be between AK and DHS. To further complicate matters, my MIL is joining us and my DH's grown son (in his younger 20's) and son's girlfriend may be joining us. AK would be a good choice because of Pandora, I feel like. But I myself prefer DHS to check out TSL. So DH and I discussed it this weekend and I think we are going with DHS.

You could leave it up to the fastpass gods. At 60 days log in and try for a fastpass for FoP, if you get it choose Animal Kingdom. If you can't try for fastpasses at Hollywood and go there.

We're currently trying to decide between HS & AK on our MNSSHP day and then doing the other park the following day (we already know when we're doing Epcot). There are 5 of us and I don't know that we've come to a consensus yet.

That's a tough one, kind of like choosing your favorite kid. I'd agree with letting the FP gods decide and see what you can get or if you are like us, let the bus gods decide and get on the first bus to arrive at the resort then hop on MDE and make your FPs.

If you haven't been to Pandora yet, I would choose AK only so that they can experience FOP. If they've already done that, I would choose DHS to see TSL.

We were fortunate enough to do Pandora last summer. We all loved FoP. My youngest son is too short but we don't mind doing rider swap. We are going at Christmas next year when Star Wars opens (because I'm crazy...lol) so we can get Toy Story Land then too.
