AK on New Years Eve?

We will be arriving at Disney early afternoon on Dec. 31. We are considering going to AK for a few hours but was wondering if we will be able to get in at 3 pmish? I will have young kids with us so we will just stay until 7 pm or so.
I know that the parks stop allowing people in Dec 31 due to high capacity but would this be the case at AK? Is there any way to find out before we go to AK (perhaps at the Disney resort) if we would be able to get in. I wouldn't want to get all the way there and be told we couldn't get in.

Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

Two years ago we were at Epcot for NYE. At that time, AK was only open until 7, and according to the CMs we asked, it did fill to capacity, but reopened later in the day. A lot of people leave after the parade, so you may have some luck.

Does anyone know if there is anyway that I could find out BEFORE we leave POP if we can get into AK that day or not? For example, will the cms at POP know what parks are at capacity or is there a # I could phone perhaps in the early afternoon?
I am hoping that since there are no fireworks or new years activities that maybe AK won't be as busy as the other parks that afternoon.

If you are driving in you will see the signs on the highway and also on Disney property that list if the parks are filled to capacity...I will say that I have never seen AK listed as being at capacity either NYE or anytime that week or Easter week so I would imagine you will be able to get in....however in my opinion that park is at capacity from the moment they open the doors - the walkways are always so crowded - busy or not!

Liz: thanks for the info. We will be getting in around noonish to POP . I don't care if we can do any attractions that day or not, I just know I won't be able to wait to the next day to go to a park. I would be satisfied to be able to just get to a park that day and wander around, maybe catch a show (Tarzen, haven't seen it yet) and look at the tree of life.
I didn't know about the capacity being posted on signs around Disney.
Do you know if this is posted somewhere at each resort, and if so, where?

The capacity is only listed on electronic signs during VERY busy times. It is higly unlikely that anything will be posted at POP as AK will most likely be open to resort guests (by bus) the whole day. Honestly I have never heard of AK closing to either car or bus traffic.
