Hi, we are doing AK on Christmas Day - hours are 7am-7pm - what time should i plan on arriving?
i did Touring Plans and it has me starting at Everest at 7:14 and finishing everything i want to do by 3, so not too worried about getting there super early, but also wouldnt mind avoiding any unnecessary long waits either

That’s a tough question. It sounds like there’s no consistency with park openings right now. Sometimes they start operating rides way earlier, sometimes right before the stated opening time.

With a 7 am opening, personally I would try to be at the turnstiles no later than 6:30 am. Get everything knocked out and then have plenty of time to rest midday. On Christmas Day I’m guessing a lot of families will choose to take it easy. Last year we did AK on Christmas Day and we didn’t roll into the parks until noon (we are usually hard core rope drop humans but chose to enjoy the resort a bit in the AM). We were shocked how light the crowds were.

Then again, this year we are in a completely different situation.

I think it depends on how successful you can be with rope drop. Ideally you could do FOP first and have a very short wait, but only if you’re toward the front of the crowd
