Wanting to do safari rope drop . I’m assuming most rope droppers head to Pandora .. what sort of waits can be die yes if you arrive half an hour prior to opening
Thanks

If you’re heading for the safari you should be fine. I arrived at AK on my last trip right around park opening and the safari was maybe 5 minutes.

I agree with @rteetz. My last RD at AK I did FoP then NR and when I got to the Safari, at about 25 minutes after RD, the wait was only 20 minutes.

Barring an exceptionally crowded day, wait times for the Safari usually are around 5 to 25 minutes in the hour after opening. Last time I was there, I rode about 45 minutes after opening with a 15 minute posted standby time and was on the truck in less than 5 minutes. Personally, I wouldn't bother showing up too early before opening as it'll just be extra time standing around if you're going straight to the Safari. If you do show up early, keep in mind that: (1) AK typically lets guests into the park anywhere from 15-45 minutes before the official opening time (mostly the FoP crowd); and (2) Pandora is the only area of the park that will be open and running early. This means that if you do show up ahead of time and get into the park, you'll just stand over at the bridge to Africa until they drop the rope around official opening time and you can walk back into Harambe. I did that last year and had around 75 other people doing the same - not much more than the first Safari truck out of the station would hold.

If you want to ride safari twice with no wait, do this, but it's still an easy FP to get at 60 days, so if you're staying onsite the better bet is to head to Dinoland/EE and you can ride everything in that area multiple times in a row before any crowd builds, then head over to a safari FP for about an hour after park opening (so that you can ride it anywhere from 1-2 hours after park opening, depending on how quickly crowds build).

If you are going to be there at RD, personally, I would do EE/ Dinosaur first, then go to the Safari. The other rides are short and you should get to SAfari before the line has gotten too long. Safari is a long ride and the other lines are more likely to be long by the time you get there.
