Is ther anyway to get a room close to the pool to minimize walking with a 2 year old? Has anyone found this to actually be a problem?

You can call DVC Member Services and have a request for a room close to the pool area added to your reservation. With any Disney request, they are noted but not guaranteed. I'm sure they will do what they can to honor your request.

None of the rooms at Kidani Village are really close to the pool. You'll pretty much have to cross the parking lot to get to the pool. Kind of like BCV and Stormalong Bay.
