AK Hours and Pandora

Hi - am I correct that AK is open until 7pm on July 8th? If this is correct will Pandora light up at all (before 7pm - it'll still be light out) or is that a "no go?" Thanks!

Some of the lighting is special paint that glows in the dark. I’m assuming that wouldn’t be visible.

Unpopular opinion-we were in Pandora after dark in September 2019, and I was underwhelmed. It is not as brightly lit as I was expecting. It's nice, but can't compare to the other parks after dark. Main Street at night almost brings tears to my eyes!

My family closed down AK during our trip in early June. I don't recall the time of closing 7 p.m. or 8 p.m. It wasn't dark out when the park closed and I don't recall artificial lighting being visible to the naked eye (if the lights were even on). I will say this about AK (and all the other parks), I was surprised how many attractions our family was able to ride the last 1-2 hours. The lines were quite-a-bit shorter, save for FoP. Not sure if that still stands weeks later, but in early June the crowds really thinned out late.

This for sure! I was so underwhelmed by Pandora at night. Last trip we finally had awake kids so we could do it. It was honestly super dim and not as impressive as I was expecting it to be. It was cool but not THAT cool.

I'm glad to hear this. I was really disappointed that AK was closing before sunset during our August trip. This makes me feel better!

It's dark intentionally because a lot of the paint is blacklight activated. Hard to see the effect during summer when they close well before dark.
