AK Help!

My fam will be at AK on 1/23 and although I was pretty pleased with my FP's and park plan when I booked them, I've since changed our ADR from Y&Y to TH and now need some help with figuring out how to make this work. Here's what we have:

- 9:25 Kilimanjaro Safari
- 10:25 FOP/Navi - my DD and I will ride Navi and my DH and DS will do FOP
- 11:25 - TH ADR
- 12:55 Everest

I want to do Festival of the Lion King before lunch, either the 10:00 right after we finish Safari which would be about 10-15 minutes before showtime, or at 11:00 after we do FOP/Navi (I'd move our ADR to 11:50), which would get us there right before showtime too. Think either of these will work? If not, what do you suggest we do? Please help!

I would move TH to 11:50 am and try to move your Safari FP+ earlier (or drop the FP+ and do it right at rope drop). It's just hard to predict how long Safari and FoP will take. If an animal is in front of a truck on the Safari, everything stops and a 20 minute ride could turn into a 30 - 45 minute one. Even with FP+, the FoP line can be long and the ride has been known to malfunction. With FP+, it took us 45 minutes to ride in August. Or, as Robo suggests, simply do Lion King later in the day.

We've definitely moved into a more leisurely touring style, so "my" plan would be to keep the 11:25 TH, move EE to a bit later time in the afternoon, and try to catch Lion King at 1:00.

@DisneyWishes14 's plan works well too, but it does mean you need to be up and in AK at rope drop to insure you make the 10:00 Lion King.

Are you planning on spending the whole day at DAK? Because if you are, go see a later FOLK show. Animal Kingdom is a park that you really need to look around at the details and not just run around to rides. Please please take some time and really explore the park. But your plan seems pretty solid. Also if something were to happen and you got stuck on FOP and were late to your ADR, you have a 20 minute grace period that you are allowed to be late. So as long as you are there before 11:55 you're fine. And with the fastpasses you can arrive 5 minutes early, and 15 minutes late and still go green!

I'm hoping that we can stay until 5 when we will need to catch a bus to get back to WL for our 5:50 WCC ADR, but my kiddos are young and after a travel day plus 2 full MK days, they may not make it. That being said I'm trying to minimize our backtracking as much as I can since we're already going from Africa to Pandora and back to Africa for our ADR already. I want them to have every fun character interaction they can and lunches are needed breaks for them, but I'm starting to think maybe I should drop the ADR, do yummy QS somewhere and loop our way from Pandora to DinoLand, then Asia, back to Africa for FLK and through Discovery Island on our way out. C'est la vie...

I'm trying to minimize our backtracking as much as I can since we're already going from Africa to Pandora and back to Africa for our ADR already.

After about 11AM, Pandora and Africa are connected via a short direct pathway.

I would move EE back, and plan to do LK show right after lunch at 1:00, since it is right next door. That way you stay in Africa and Pandora for the morning, then head to Asia for EE if you can get FP for 1:30 - also gives time to digest from lunch, and nice rest before rest of day. Then you can head to Dinoland on way out if you want to stay.

Honestly there are so many great quick service locations in DAK. The one in Pandora is amazing. But there is a bridge from Africa to Pandora, they aren't super far away if you don't want to cancel it!
