AK - Fast passes on shows - assume this is new??

Animal Kingdom, from what I understand, is being used as a pilot park for the trial of new fastpass systems. I seem to recall that they were going to try out a central point for FP collection, or at least they were considering it. This may just be another test to see if it takes prior to the Summer.

it was happening at Easter, we were there April 1st, there was a tent/gazebo set up just to the left (if I remember correctly) of It's Tough To Be A Bug's Entrance, offering fast passes for the shows.

It possibly will, but they do need to test it and make sure that any little creases are ironed out before rolling it out officially. Here's hoping.

That particular trial at AK debuted last July. This seems to be a new development.

As an aside, Disney has announced that it is introducing a "ticket and pen" concept for certain attractions with notoriously long lines. You'll be issued with a ticket and then, rather than queue, be entertained in a holding area until your number's called. Apparently it's to be introduced at the Dumbo attraction as part of the Fantasyland expansion, but they've already been trialling it at R 'n' R.

Fastpasses for shows have been around for quite awhile, for example Indiana Jones, Fantasmic, Lights Motors. (The machines have been turned off for the latter much of the time recently)

Last August a CM approached us and offered us FP for Nemo at AKL.

Fast Pass for Fantasmic would be great - even if they issued them for half the seating area so that those arriving in the park later in the day had the option to still queue.

We queued for 60mins and even then were sat down for a another 45 mins before show started.

Would love to see this show again as it was amazing but the wait time to get a seat is hars.
