Has anyone gone to Animal Kingdom during an EMH evening? Is it worth it or are the crowds to large? :bounce:

Probably not, theres not too much to do thier during the day I don't see why they even need EMH.

We were there shortly after they started the EMH program. It was really neat to see the park after dark, with the lighting on the walkways etc. We went on the safari late evening and the animals were more active than I have seen in the early morning time. The park was empty within the first hour of EMH, of course this was during the slow season so the average wait throughout the day was a few minutes if not walk-on. We road dinosaur until our necks hurt and then left with over an hour of park time left. I would like to think it will stay this way, but next trip is in June and I know it will be more crowded.

So am I to assume that the Safari runs during EMH and the animals are out? Did you stay until the end of EMH? What resturaunts were open? I love AK during the day, and this sounds lovely.

We did evening EMH at AK the week following Easter and it was GREAT! No lines, no crowds! Safari was NOT on, though, and they had a sign clearly stating this at the entrance to the park. Last run was around 6pm.

We did Dinosaur, Primeval whirl, Triceratops Spin, Kali River Rapids, Tougoh to be a Bug. Could have done Lion King adn Trazan, but chose not to. The McDonald's sit down/coutner service place was open. (Not just the petrifries place).

It was a wonderful, relaxing, enjoyable night.

We were there last week and loved the AK eve EMH. I think the only ride that had more than a 5 minute wait was Kali River Rapids (20-25 min), and that died down after about an hour. During the last hour, we were able to ride KRR repeatedly without having to leave the raft! DS was thrilled because that's one of his favorite rides at WDW.

Hi,

How late is AK open during EMH during Value Season? I'm going the first week of December. I thought it would be nice to tour the lodge, eat at Boma and then go see Festival of the Lion King and any other shows we could and save the AK rides for a morning EMH there. If the safari is open in the evening, bonus! Wondering now, if AK closes at 7 pm, maybe we should we eat at Boma AFTER visiting AK instead? Do they take seatings for dinner any earlier than 5 pm? Thanks!

thanks to everyone that replied about AK emh We are going to give it a try in May! Mickey Macks, I don't have the answer to your question but this will bump it up and maybe someone else will.

Here's the hours from early December 2004:
Animal Kingdom
December 1-18 -- 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

We went in Feb, arriving at 4:30 for the EMH at 5:00. the line for wristbands was not long and they checked ID's
It gave us time to play in the Boneyard, see Tarzan (amazing and one skater fell off the stage into the audience! he was fine though) and ride the dinos. That is all we wanted to see that time around so we were thrilled. If I had planed it better, I would have gone to see the Characters before it closed at 6 and would have ridden a ride without DD.

on a side note, we went to eat at Restrauntasarus and the wait for food was unbelievable! there was not a line, just very few CM's and slow food! I don't know why. Maybe value season or the EMH was to blame but I'd be interested to see if anyone else had that issue. Other food places seemed to be closed and it was a little hard to find the way around at night but I don't know the park well enough yet.
