AK Element -progress thread Due Date 9/20 Everyone has checked in!

Kat - you could try, but they're pretty jam-packed. It's amazing how much room a 2 year old's stuff takes up!

Mine were mailed today. Buffy I wrote you a note about postage in the AK Kit thread. Thanks for hosting. I am looking forward to seeing everyone'ss work.

Mine are finally done! They will go postal hopefully tomorrow with the kit swap. I'll post again to confirm that they've gone! :thumbsup2

This is what I have gotten done

Dinoland
Jungle Trek
Discovery Island
Bug Off
Hakuna Matata

I want to do Pizzafari instead of Petrifies please.

I really want to have these in the mail this weekend.

Lots of progress this weekend! Amazing what some down time in a camper will do for the scrapper!

I have my general cut and matted - just need embellishments
I know what I'm doing with Africa and have some jpgs printed and cut but have to do the rest still
Boneyard cut and matted - just need embellishments
Giraffe - done

I've figured out when I have a lot to do its easier to get the base pieces done then embellish later - of course they are all sketched first!

Hope to finish next weekend - this is a crazy week with DS back to school and still has football practice 3 nights! And I have to work a bazillion hours!

Maria

I am working on these still. Having trouble b/c I want these to look Awesome but the effect I want is really drivining me crazy.

I posted on SIOH's Newbie AK thread that I had some problems with my Camp Minnie-Mickey stuff. I had bought paper, couldn't find it, found a backup, but didn't like how it came together. Seemed too general, and not Camp MM like. Then, while looking for fibers for a tag, I found the bag with the paper. So then I got to work and finished that group.

So now the only thing I have left is Group E Flights of Wonder. I am kind of stuck, but I really want to get these finished before the weekend.

I read. I laughed. I feel your pain! LOL

Tigers are done.

I sketched and partially assembled my Asia group and then decided I didn't like them and tossed them. Now I'm back to the drawing board again, literally. I've been looking through pics of Asia for inspiration. I just can't decide how I want these to look because I don't want them to be too "Asian" but I want them to have the right feel.

Can you tell I've been suffering from scrappers' block? :headache:

P.S. Forgot to add that I'm waffling on my water group also. If I can switch my kit to Cheetah, this one will be a cinch.

Finished the Flights of Wonder stuff, so I am officially DONE! :woohoo:

Now I hope everything fits in a flat rate box.:rotfl2: I'll probably give these to DH to mail at the beginning of next week, but I will post when they are postal.

Does this look ok as a topper?? Even on the smallest size setting on the Cricut the letters were huge! Should I add fiber on the tag or leave it?

I wouldn't add a fiber. I think it is fine. The only thing would maybe be some sort of flourish (vines maybe?) under the words "Discovery." I like the tag part, to get extra space. I never would have thought of something like that. If you had posted this sooner, I might have scraplifted it. My topper I did for Flights of Wonder is a bit larger than normal too, to get the letters to fit. It's 3" tall, plus there is a bird that sticks out a bit too.

I can cut vines on my Cricut. I'll try that tomorrow, thanks!

Nother quick question, Doesn't Rainforest Cafe have a volcano???

I went to LSS and bought more stickles, candy crusted cardstock and extra large eyelets......I also found some paper that I just couldn't leave in the store.....oh, I also got some ric rac.....let's see what I come up with now. My son will be at church at his first overnight lock in.....so it will be swap, swap, swap for me. :cool1:

If you don't mind my asking, what is an overnight lock in at church?
