Hi,

We are trying to plan out the days for which parks/meals and we are staying at BW so since it's far from AK, we are going to spend the day there and eat over there. There are no sit down restaurants for dinner. what do people usually do to eat dinner there? The park is open for 3 hours after closing so we'll be there til 9.

We eat at Rainforest. We use the DP, but this one is not on it so we pay OOP.

AK has 2 of the best CS @ WDW with Flame Tree & Tusker House. I don't think you could go wrong with either one.

minnie,

I totally forgot that Rainforest is there now instead of Downtown disney. Yeah we are on the DDP so we'll probably look for something on it since there is a Rainforest cafe in the mall that we go to (even though the one in Disney is wayyyyyy better).

calgary,

I think we are going to do one of the CS and then have a late dinner back at BW at Spoodles.

Thank you both for the great help!

Just a suggestion. Take a bus over to AKL and have dinner at Boma's. Enjoy your meal. Enjoy checking out AKL...the grand hall is fabulous and there is an outside area with fire pit. When ready, you can take a bus back to AK, or to EP and finish the night with Illuminations before returning the BW.

Rainforest is at the AK and at Downtown Disney! Personally, I can't eat at the AK, it makes me feel a touch guilty. Even though I really love animals and appreciate it when I can actually touch and pet them or feed them, I normally have no trouble eating as a carnivore. My veggie daughter aske after seeing Chicken run "You still want to eat chicken?" and I said of course! But going to the AK is another story.

I was just telling my parents we should do that because I want to stay either Poly or AKL on my next trip to Disney so I'd love to check out the resort. I'll check out the menu for Boma's now. How long is the bus ride?

Alan,

I LOVE meat but I had to laugh when I read your post because I thought that I'd feel guilty too if we ate in AK. :p

I have been to AK for EMH hours many times and have found that both Flame Tree BBQ and Tuskers are not open during the Extra Magic Hours. Typically these restaurants close around 4pm.
You might want to rethink your dining plans instead of relying on something that may not be open.

Thanks for the help! We made ressies at the steakhouse in contemp. for 8:30 that day so we are going to eat around 2 or 3 for a QS meal at one of those places.

It depends on where you are going from. When we were at POFQ it took us about 20 minutes at 7:00 am. They make a lot of stops from POFC to the 4 stops at POR. I would think at it may take less time from anywhere else on the Disney Property site. From AK to Poly would be about 15 minutes if the bus goes directly, but sometimes it goes several places and it can take longer. When we went to Jiko it took us close to 45 minutes, but the driver fouled up and returned after stopping at Corondo Springs.
