Yay! We leave for our trip a week from tomorrow! Our flight gets in around 10 am and we are hoping to have lunch at AK. We have ADRs for Boma that night, but we both realized today that neither one of us has any idea what CS (or snacks) are good in AK.

Any suggestions for CS lunch?
What about fun snacks?

Thanks!

We love Flame Tree BBQ and try to get it each time we're at AK. I like the chicken and DH & DD like the ribs. DS usually gets chicken nuggets from the McD's Restaurantasaurus or pizza from Pizzafari.

The only snack I remember having is a Mickey icecream bar and that's good in any park :)

Here's another fan of Flame Tree Barbeque! We enjoy the chicken and ribs, also. There are many tables located behind the counter service area. We like to follow the trail past the initial tables down toward the river area. Generally, it's quieter, peaceful, and much more scenic view!

Used to be Tusker House was my favorite but now it's Flame Tree.

If you are on the dining plan, keep in mind that Pizzafari does not have a children's pizza. Lots of DDP folks appear to get blindsided by that one.

I actually wouldn't eat a meal at AK, just snacks. The buffet at Boma is extensive and you'd be better served by saving your appetite for then.

We ate a CS breakfast around 10am, ice cream at AK(boy was it hot) then dinner at Boma aroud 6:30pm. I wished I had saved more room for Boma, but no way would I have passed on that Mickey bar!

Thanks--it's just 2 adults and we are not on the dining plan. Yes, I've been to Boma before and it's my favorite place from our last trip. I definitely want to be hungry when we get there! But we will be leaving home at 5 am...arriving in FL at around 10...and a bag of stale pretzels on the plane won't hold us for long! :)

Since Tusker House closed (well, closed as a CS option), we've been enjoying the Italian sandwich at Pizzafari.

I'm also a big fan of Pizzafari, and especially of their Italian sandwich.

Usually when I travel, by the time I get to the resort and check-in, I'm starving. Plus, some of the best lunch choices are the QS places. AND they are all near the bus hub to the parks in each resort. Plus, there will probably be no lines at your home resort.

Tusker House used to be our favorite by far. The rest are just eh, IMO. We were especially disappointed with FT BBQ. Don't see what others see there.

For snacks, there is a fresh fruit stand near the Safari, and lots of places to get Mcikey Bars. Otherwise, the Chakarandi Chicken stand used to have good chicken dumpling soup, but I couldn't find it the last time we were there. I think it's gone now.
