Is this a good tip or not?

When changing to another park from AK, take the bus to the closest resort- AK Lodge, Coranodo or All Stars (not the TTC) and then take the resort bus to your park of choice!!! :moped:

if so, Is this a FLAMABLE offense :earseek: , like "pool hopping" :Pinkbounc

You could do that, but there are also busses from AK straight to Epcot, MGM, and the TTC.

(There are no busses from any of the parks to DTD, and if you're going to MK it probably makes sense to take a bus to a resort then transfer, because the resort busses go straight to MK while the busses from the parks go to the TTC)

Depending on what park you go to, it might not be necessary. When I was at AK last, going to Epcot, it had a direct bus-well, we made a quick stop at MGM first. But I remember that the bus driver said that there was no direct bus to MK, you'd have to go to TTC. I think that going to a resort and changing to the MK bus would be a perfectly acceptable alternative.

Actually, we are looking for the fastest rout from AK to MGM... :moped:

We must have overlooked this because last year I don't remember ANY busses from AK direct to other parks! :confused3

It might save you some time if you're going to MK. Not to the other parks, though. If you go to a monorail resort, a lot of them share busses. I think the GF bus shares with WL (from AK) and the Polynesian and Contemporary share.

Don't see why that would be flammable offense! When we were at AK we wanted to go to DTD, but the buses from the parks don't go there so we hopped the Contemporary bus and then caught a bus there to DTD and I would do that same to get to MK except I'd get on the monorail.

I'll do just about anything to avoid the TTC. :teeth:

So there are busses directly from Ak to MGM? I never noticed! Are there busses from all the parks to the other parks? We park hop every year and for the life of me I don't remember how we got from one place to another.

Yes, The Kids and the Grandmother took one on New Year's Eve day. The bus stop is straight ahead in the furthest set of stops. About halfway down the row. They had just missed getting on a bus and had to wait a full twenty minutes for the next one.

Other alternatives - taking the bus to the Animal Kingdom Lodge and then transferring to the MGM bus. Or taking the bus to the Swan and walking or boating to MGM. All ethical ways of using Disney transportation.

There are direct busses between most parks. Unless there's a huge line waiting, that would be faster than switching at a resort. Unless you want to go to MK from AK. A resort bus from AKL might be faster because it's direct they don't share service with other resorts.

I found this sight - it is wonderful for planning out your buses, boats and monorail choices for anywhere in WDW

Thanks for all the great tips --especially that link dwmlaf. Thats awesome!

Generally bus hopping, if you want to call it that, is allowed and perfectly OK.

If you get the Transportation Map when you are at Disney, you may choose and use any of the paths shown with these exceptions:

1. Going to a park to get in on extra magic hours you may be expected to show a resort ID in order to board,

2. Some routes may be restricted during busy hours, such as use of the resort monorail from MK to the parking lot at closing by day guests,

3. Late at night when security is a concern you may be required to show ID before boarding some buses to resorts.

Park to park (except MK) is a one seat ride. For MK you have to make a transfer no matter what path you take and generally the walk between vehicles is much shorter if you make the transfer at a resort rather than at TTC. From a theme park to Downtown Disney or to Typhoon Lagoon you must transfer at a resort. From a theme park to Blizzard Beach you must use a resort bus, refer to signs for which one.
