Is the Ak worth taking 2 year olds to? Or should we skip it on our upcoming trip? I have been, with the exception of the shows I don't recall much for smaller children. Should we think about doing it a 1/2 day. thanks
Tara

We went with our 1.5-year-old and 3.5-year old and spent half a day, though I'm sure we could have spent more time (it was just too darn hot that July day!). Our little ones really loved the Safari and of course the Triceratops Spin ride, which we rode four times. We spent time meeting Mickey and Minnie--that was lots of fun and we got great pictures. I think the kids would have enjoyed walking some of the trails and probably also Rafiki's Planet Watch (is that what it's called?) but the heat was just too much for them that day. We skipped all the shows because our toddler just wouldn't sit still for them, but I know there are lots of little kids who really love the shows and will sit through them. We're hoping to do those next time.
BTW, DH and I parent-swapped Dinosaur and Primeval Whirl; that worked out well.

From your counter it looks like you'll be going at a cooler time of year that we did so I think you could definitely make a full day of it if you want to.

We took our daughter (2 and 3/4 year old) and she liked AK. We actually spent the day at AK instead of EPCOT. Lots of animals to see. She went on the Safari and loved it. The age appropriate activities for a toddler are similiar to a zoo. In addition to the animal type exhibits, our daughter liked the shows and parade, especially "Lion King."

Best wishes

We only were able to spend 1/2 day there with our dd 2 1/2 and neice (almost 2). We went on the Safari and the walk, (they loved the animals) and saw the Lion King and Bugs (both were big hits) and met some characters.

The bone yard playground is great! They have slides and a pit of tiny stones to dig in, much less messy than sand. It is a nice break and they had a ball. Also great for photos!

We went to Rainforrest for lunch which was neat to look at but took 2 hours for food! so watch your choices there.
My brother took his daughter back to go to the Petting area(?) and they had fun but we ran out of time before nap.

You have enough for them to do at least 1/2 day, so it may be a nice change from MK. Have Fun!

AK is my DD's favorite park behind MK. She is now three but it has been her favorite since before age two. The shows are awesome. DD loved Lion King, Pocahontas, and Tarazan. She really enjoys the safari ride plus the two animal walking paths. She loves TriCeratops Spin in Dinoland and the nearby Boneyard playground is always a huge hit. The Boneyard has a sandy area to dig up bones plus a bunch of slides to please the kiddies. Children need only be 38 inches to ride Kali River Rapids so DD got her first ride at 2 1/2. She liked it a bunch and just did it again in Feb. Plus AK seems to have quite a bit of character interaction which our DD just loves. At Discovery Landing the Pooh characters are always on hand for pictures and at Camp Minnie-Mickey several characters are always waiting. At the park entrance we seem to always catch several characters too. We really enjoy their counter service places here too such as Flame Tree B-B-Q.

My one year old loved it thoroughly. He loved the safari and has developed a deep heartfelt love of elephants from it. He also really liked seeing the tigers and the silver backed gorillas. His favorite though was Donald's Breakfastsaurus. It was a little too hot the day we went to stay too long - but it was well worth the time we did take there - just don't plan a full day as there is a limit to what they can see and do.

AK is DS now 2yr favorite. He loves music so the roaming performers were great. Not mentioned is the parade, it is more interactive than MK's and he loved the puppet handlers coming up to him, even got to shake hands (fin, feet) with some of the puppets. Yes it is the hottest park when you are on the blacktop
