I can't answer for this year but ... last year we bought the vouchers at Flame Tree when we ordered. The cashier suggested purchasing them as it would save us money. I also think there were stands throughout the park "advertising" the vouchers and you could purchase them there as well.

Hope they're still doing this ... it was a great value.

Ditto on the value. We bought them both days we were in AK last November... they are an awesome value! I preferred my lunch at Flame Tree to Tusker House, and was pleasantly surprised to learn that I could get soft-serve ice cream instead of a pre-made. I wish that they would implement this system at some of the other parks!

thanks for your replies, i would really like to try this, i have never had a meal at AK (got absolutely soaked on raft ride our 1st year and ended up going back to our resort for lunch and dry clothes LOL:rolleyes: ) anybody know if the meal deal is still available?

The details are this:

$11.99 buys you a meal at any counter service restaurant. it includes a drink, but I can't remember if it included dessert or not. It also gives you a coupon for a bottle of water or soda and either an ice cream or a popcorn.

I'd say it saves a good $3-4 per person. Definitely worth it!

I am interested in these vouchers too. Where do you purchase the voucher once you are in the park?

Thanks

You can buy them at the counter service restaurants. You purchase your vouchers, then place your lunch order and use your vouchers to pay.

Does anyone know about the quick and casual vouchers? I hear they can be used a a variety of places and are $11.99 also. I have seen them on ebay and heard there is a website where you can buy them for less than what people are selling them for on ebay.

Anyone familiar with them???
thanks in advance!

Would love to save a little $$ on food at disney.

The Quick and Casual vouchers are actually a bit cheaper than the AK Meal Deal...they are only $11.25. We prefer the Meal Deal, however, because they provide a bit more flexibility. For example, if we use the Q&C voucher at Flame Tree BBQ (our favorite at AK) we will get a meal, a drink and a dessert. The Meal deal provides the meal and drink but then a choice of ice cream or popcorn later in the day, along with a bottled water or soda. Since we don't care for the desserts at Flame Tree we go with the Meal Deal, get the ice cream later and save our vouchers for another park/resort.

As for whether the deal is still available, the menu signs at each restaurant now specifically mention the meal deal so I would guess it is permanent.

A conversation with the cm cashier at Flame Tree B-B-Q in Feb. indicated that for now they were a permanant part of the AK menu line up. As the above poster mentioned they are up on the regular menu boards where you place your order. We loved being able to get an ice cream or popcorn later on and always got the bottled water to take back to our resort. It be great if the other parks did something like this too! :)

I'll be at AK on 4/28 :bounce: and I'm still debating if this will be a good plan for my children and myself. We'll have a huge breakfast at Donalds at around 9a, so I wonder if we'll be hungry enough for lunch and a snack during the course of the day. I wish you could use the voucher on another day, or even better, in another park, but I have an idea why it's available at AK only. So many people have the "it's a 1/2 day park" idea this encourages you to stay longer to get that ice cream. :)

We might do it anyway, I can never resist those Toll House cookie ice cream sandwiches.

Is the $11.99 price for both Adults and kids or is it the adult price and there is a cheaper price for kids?

thanks

Does anyone know the website where these vouchers can be purchased?

I think you can only purchase them in the park and they are only good for that day

The AK Meal Deal is only available for purchase at AK on the day you wish to use it. You can purchase the certificates at Guest Services or any counter service restaurant that offers the deal (Pizzafari, Tusker House, Flame Tree Barbecue). The Meal Deal is $11.99 for adults, $5.99 for kids.

The Connections vouchers are a different thing and available through their website. You need to become a member ($1 for first month then $79.95 per year) and order them there. The vouchers are $11.25 (no kids price) and can be used for an entree, side dish, beverage and dessert at several WDW counter-service restaurants.

thanks MinnieGi for the info, hopefully that cm was right and this is a permanent part of the menu. :D
hey Dandelion, we might be at the counter staring up at the board for info on this deal at the same time LOL. i plan on being in ak the same day as you:D hope you have a great trip:D
