For anyone who has flown airtran... can you give your opinion on it? We haven't flown anything but delta, us air, and united (We typically fly into small airports). We are looking at flights for our cruise in Sept and airtran is $10 less than jetblue, which means $40 between all of us, and was wondering if it's worth the little bit of difference? I heard great things about jet blue and I'm not sure if its worth $40 to take the risk on a not so good experience? TIA

We just flew them last week and we liked them. We didn't have a schedule change like so many on here have reported, so that wasn't a problem.

We fly AirTran all the time and really like them. I have had way more issues with Delta losing baggage and delaying flights. To be honest with you, the biggest problem with both of those carriers is flying through ATL...never have good luck there!

Don't forget that AirTran charges $15 per checked piece of luggage so if you are planning on checking bags Jet Blue would be cheaper. I prefer JetBlue for many different reasons (TV's for the kids, better snacks, less chance of flights getting changed, etc) but I am flying AirTran in April because JetBlue's fares were almost double.

Fortunatly it's a direct flight so we won't have to worry about transfering luggage, so hopefully it will get there ok thanks for the thoughts

What about amenities and leg room?

Thanks for letting me know! That is definetly good as we will probubly have 3 if not 4 checked bags (1 per person) which would DEFINETLY add up quick!!! TV would be nice for all of us, and I have a feeling my OCD planner side would kick in and be irritating is schedule got changed as I've heard has happened to a lot of people. Thanks!

I have flown both and prefer JetBlue. First bag is free and the leg room and seat are better. Also, JetBlue has the TV's in the seat back... for the kids this was great.

AirTran is fine, but for me the saving would have to be more than $10. I also didn't like the fact that on AirTran, you have to pay extra to "save" your seat. I did this because I was with a child. If you do not buy your seat, then you end up sitting where ever you fit.

That is my opinion! :goodvibes At the end of the day, JetBlue will probably be the cheaper option!

Thanks! I didn't know you didn't get assigned seats.. ugh... I defiently don't like that part!!! I'm thinking jetblue would be cheapest with free 1st bag alone.
