Is the boarding policy at AirTran the same as Southwest??? Seeing that you can print your boarding pass 24hours before flight time, is it the same A,B and C boarding as SWA???

No you get a seat assignment at the 24 hour mark. If it is a busy time of year they will have already assigned your seat. If there are any empty seats available you can change to those seats if you like.

Southwest is the only airline that doesn't assign seats.

Thanks Safetymom, I think I will go ahead and book with AirTran instead of waiting for SWA. It is a better deal all around .

If you book Airtran with a travel agent, they can assign seats at time of purchase!

Our TA was able to get our seats assigned. We did have the option of changing them when we did the online check in but I kept the original ones. When boarding they do it by row number, I believe rows 1-3 first, then rows 24 & back, then the middle rows. We had rows 11, 12, & 14. There is not a row 13.
