AirTran website changed...can check seat availabitility right after searching!

I went to their site to see how much flights are now for the ones we booked in Nov. and right after you search for the dates, it shows you the available flights and on the far right there is a seat icon that you can click on and it shows you on a pop up page what seats are open!
Not sure how recent this is but as of early May I know it wasn't like that!

That is so cool. I never noticed that before; it has to be recent, because I checked my flights a few weeks ago.

I did note that they still have the six row plane going down, the Saturday after Thanksgiving, but they blocked out the "B" seats in case they go to a smaller plane.

Coming back the following Friday, it is still the five row plane.

Both are almost completely full. Boy, I am glad I booked when I did!

Sorry you haven't noticed it before but that icon has been available for at least a year. We have used it many times to check seat availability before booking a flight.

I am OCD and check my flights daily to see if there are any changes. PP is right the seat icon has been there, but the OP is correct too the website has changed. The seat icon is now all the way to the right in lime green rather than right next to the travel times. Also now next to some flights it might say they have (#) of seats available on this flight, which is new.

We have flown AirTran for several years now, and the seat icon has always been there. It has moved, and changed color, but it was always there. Many of the seats a blocked out though for AirTran to give seat assignments later, so you can only use this as a rough guide.

I agree that button has been there forever but it is much more noticeable now! I like the feature that tells you how many seats are left at the price you want to book! No more guessing how many I have to book seperately to get the lower price!!

I also like their performance button - the one that tells you the historical performance of the flight you are picking!
