So...I'm wondering about aerosol cans - hairspray, etc. under 14oz. The website says it is ok in checked baggage but when I asked on the phone they said absolutely not. Their planes are not pressurized for this and it will cause an explosion. When I pointed out that the website says it's ok, she said "well, I guess it's ok then" just print the page from the web and show it to them. That will do me no good if they take it out of my checked baggage as I will not be there to do this. And, if it presents a safety hazard, I am not going to pack it and just come up with another means of getting it when I get there, which I will pay dearly for. She tells me that Air Tran will not open my baggage and it is up to the TSA agents to decide if it's allowed in there. TSA says it is ok.
I ask why so many inconsistancies and she tells me they were trained three years ago and alot has changed over the course of three years.
Yes, I know, this can be avoided simply by not packing aerosol cans but I have purchased everything already and really don't have the time to go do it again before our flight. So...did anyone who has flown airtran take aerosol cans and what did they do?
