I noticed when I checked in for my flight that upgrading to business class would be $69. If there are upgrades available when I get to the airport, is it normally the same price, or is it less?

The last few times I've flown AT they have offered the $69 Business Class Upgrade at the gate.

It's the same price at the gate if available. If you want it, get it now; they seats will most likely be filled by the time you get to the gate. The price of upgrade runs from 69-99 based on length of air trip.

The whole list is on the airtran website.

I have played the waiting game to see if they are less at the gate. With their newer program of the set fees it doesn't change. Get it now while you can. Chances are slim to none that the seats will be left at the gate.

That is a nice upgrade. I tried to do the upgrade for 2 out of the 4 of us on our last trip and it would not let us.

BUT, when we were at the podium, they were scanning our BP's and they wouldn't scan....... after a few tries, the agent said, "Oh, you are the Dudspizza family, we have given you new seats." At first we were mad as we were traveling with another family of 5 and were all sitting together.... that was until we found out our entire family was upgraded to business class for FREE! They said they needed the seats for other passengers and since we were all A+ members, we got the free upgrade. The only downside was that we didn't get free baggage, but that was ok with us! The kids loved sitting in row 1, even if it was from MSP to MKE! We had to call our friends in the back of the plane to tell them we would not be joining them in coach......... we giggled the whole time and waived at them thru the curtain!

Some shorter flights are actually $49. I usually upgrade using 4 A+ rewards credits as that is worth less to me than the $69 cash charge.
