Airtran upgrade question

For anyone who is familiar with Airtran's business class upgrades: I have done this on nonstop flights and LOVE it; I am planning a trip to Mexico that involves a layover in Atlanta. If I pay for the upgrade on the first leg of the flight does it include the second leg as well or would that be additional $$?
