I booked all of our tickets while they had sales. The flight to Orlando I was able to get 2 seats for $89, & 1 for $119. I later purchased another seat for a friend that will be travtling with us for $149(this was after the sale). For the return trip I payed $119 for all 4 seats. I now see that the seats both ways are on sale for $99. Has anyone ever called Airtran & been given a credit for the difference to use on a future flight? I know it is a long shot, but it sure would be nice. Thanks for any help!

In my experience (one try) and the experiences of others posted here, AirTran doesn't do that.

What they told me:
-- any change incurs a $50 fee
-- you can't simply rebook the same flight at the cheaper price, PERIOD
-- the best you can do is rebook a DIFFERENT flight at the cheaper price

That is what I thought :guilty: It just upsets me a little though, because the 1st sale was for $89. I was only able to get 2 seats at that price & had to pay $119 for the 3rd. I emailed & asked why I could not get all 3 for the sale price. Their response was they only had a number of seats for the sale. If that is the case then why are they back down to $99? So confusing lol

They probably do that to see if anyone will buy at the higher price after the sale. Then, if no one buys them they'll put them on sale again. I've been watching my upcoming flight with AirTran..I got my 4 tickets @$89/each way per person. 2 weeks after that they were $169 then back down to $119 then to $89. I think they'd rather put them on sale and have a full flight then to try to sell at the higher price and have empty seats. Two weeks before I bought the tickets I could have had them for $69 down and $54 back per person, but at that moment DH couldn't make up his mind if he wanted to fly or drive.

hmmm... I thought all airlines would give you a voucher for the difference. I know alot of airlines won't give you the $$ back.(although some do)..

Would not hurt to call and ask for a voucher. They are usually valid for travel for 1yr

I seen the the flights were back down to $94 last week. I sent AT an email & got a reply today, I now have a credit of $185 to use towards my next flight :cool1: I was really surprised that they did this after reading they would not. I was told to call & the lady I talked to was very nice & took care of it quickly. I also was not charged any extra fees. I can use this towards our Jan.trip :cheer2:

Sounds like a first for Airtran... they normally don't do that. Either you got lucky or they are going to try to be a bit more customer friendly about stuff like this...
