Airtran out of St.Louis changed our flights 5 times so far.

We are flying out of St.Louis, MO and for a long time our flights stayed he same. But now again today they changed our flights for the 5th time. Each time we get a longer layover went from 40min. to 1h24 min. now, our flight number has changed, and they have also put us leaving 45 min earlier as well. In all the changes have not been major so far. But i am starting to get a little worried we still have 2months left till we fly out. If they changed that many times in the past month how many more times will it change. I looked into the other flights that day, but they would have us arriving after 3pm or several hours layover. Anyone have any experience with AT out of St.Louis on the christmas holiday season.

We have found that flights that have a connection in Atlanta tend to have far more changes than direct flights from our home airport. If either of the two connecting flights change, then they have to change your schedule. We have flown direct many times and have seen only a couple of changes.

Air Tran (out of STL) changed our flight time too many times to count on our March 2009 trip. I canceled the flight with Air Tran and rebooked with Southwest. The price was almost the same and the service was much better.

Air Tran does have a policy that will allow you to cancel your flight without a payment penalty if they change the time.

I have flown sw many times and never had a problem, but for us it was going to be $300+ more than it was with AT. So that is they reason i chose airtran instead. I just checked it again and its still that much more.
