Airtran out of MCO?

Hello fellow transportation folks. I know I usually answer questions on this board instead of asking them, but I could really use your help!

I'm planning the second half of our Disney and Aruba honeymoon in October and I'm attempting to figure out flights from MCO to AUA. Most options have us stopping in Miami or Fort Lauderdale. There's one nonstop flight, however, but it's on Airtran. I've never flown on that airline and I'd like to hear from people who have.

The flight is at a preferable time of day and would mean getting to Aruba in about 3 hours vs. 8 to 10 on other airlines. That flight is also about $100 less than other airlines.

So basically, what I'm asking is whether you'd pick that Airtran flight over legacy carriers such as American Airlines or US Airways? Thanks for the help!

I would. I've flown AirTran just about every year.

I would. I've flown AirTran many times and it's fine. SouthWest now owns AirTran.

I would take it. Airtran they are a decent budget airline.

Been using Airtran for 7 years and have never had any of the issues people talk about on here. Never an issue with changing flight times or customer service. Some people say the planes are "older" and are "dirtier" that SW planes, but then I never looked to see if I can lick the floors or the walls of the plane. As long as seat is clean, the people are nice and the plane gets to its destination without incident....I am good.

I have flown Airtran for quite a few years now. They are excellent. I am in Chicago and have a choice of most any airline to anywhere. I will dearly miss Airtran when they are fully absorbed into SW.

Flown AirTran many times and have never had any issues. I actually prefer them over the legacy/bigger airlines.

AirTran is our first choice...always. DH travels a lot and he has flown on most carriers, but he picks AirTran any time that he can.

Since Southwest bought them, Air Tran no longer flies out of DFW, but when they did, they were pretty much the airline I always chose. We miss them soooo much! We preferred Air Tran over the legacy carriers and never had a problem with them.

Thanks for the fantastic information everyone! The price of the flight we were looking at dropped again last night, so it became a no-brainer to book. Quick flight and a great price, it sounds good enough for us to give Airtran a try!

Also, check back periodically. If the price drops, they will credit the difference to your AT account to be used with one year of original booking. Over the years, I have had hundreds of dollars credited to be used in the future.

They are being weird with their sales. They sent out a notice this morning and some rates were cheaper and now this afternoon they are not.
No change in our flights, but now I wished I would have waited to fly out the Sunday after Thankgiving because those flights went down. I would think they would never reduce those.
