We will hopefully be traveling to Disneyworld Oct.12-14 from Philadelphia.

We are taking airtran as they seem to be the most reasonable with prices,PLUS we have a few of those $25 off coupons :)

Anyway,I see alot of people mention that KAYAK.COM provides you with free seating assignments,I can't seem to find that on there? And also when I go to Kayak.com their prices are a little higher then booking right from Airtran.com for the same exact flight?

EXAMPLE:

For our family of four to travel on Airtan on arriving Oct.12 and returning Oct.14 the total is $636.80 ,and after we use all the $25 coupons it will be $536.80,when I go on Kayak it is higher.

ALSO:we have been reading alot on AIRTRAN changing flights,is this rare? We CANNOT take anything other then a nonstop flight!

THANKS!

When you go to Kayak.com pick the flight you want and then click details...you will see the link to Airtran. Once you link over, odds are you will get a screen that says "Sweet the flight now costs...." and you will get the lower price.

They don't advertise the free seat selection thing but once you pick them you will see that there will be no charge.

Airtran changes flight times a lot but the odds of losing a direct flight are slim to none. Once they bumped me off a non-stop onto a connection and I called and said that was unacceptable. The agent had no idea why I had been bumped from the flight but she immediately put me right back on the non-stop. The odds of them taking away a non-stop are very slim. If that does happen though, they would refund your tickets.

If you book your flights as one-ways, then you could use 4 more coupons and save $200 :-)

When I first started checking through Kayak for AirTran I also thought the fares were higher. However, Kayak includes certain fees and taxes in the rate they advertise. When you actually click through and view the rate under Flight Details on the Confirm Your Selections page at AirTrans site, the rate for each flight will likely match what you are seeing when going directly through AirTran's site.

Flights through Atlanta will look much higher since the fees that Kayak includes in their quotes included fees associated for flying through Atlanta. Direct flights won't show as much of a difference.

One thing to remember is that kayak is not a travel agency like travelocity or orbitz. Kayak is nothing more than a search engine like google.

When you search on kakayk, one of the options it should give you is Airtran's website. You click on that and it takes you directly to Airtran and you deal directly with Airtran from that point on.

If you can come up with 4 more email addresses, you should book your flights separately as one way flights. Then you can each get $50 off pp. Total discount would be $200 instead of $100.

$436.80 for a family of 4 is beyond spectacular. If that can't make you happy, I don't know what will.
Good luck.

Yes, sometimes they change their schedule, but if you call they'll put you on another flight of your choice as long as there are seats available at no charge.

I just booked with kayak and had 8 25.00 vouchers
for our family of 4 our total cost was 316.80 (79.20 roundtrip per person) for a nonstop flight you just cant beat it

They just did this for our return of our Nov cruise. We had an 11:45am non stop which they completely eliminated. The next non stop was around 4 which was full so the next nonstop is 6pm. Now we'll need to rent a car to kill some time.
Still, we paid just $59 pp so I really can't complain. Beats driving.:goodvibes
