Airtran - do they change flight times frequently?

We haven't flown Airtran for a couple of years. I want to book my airfare for my May cruise soon. The flights out of Philly are a really good price but I'm afraid to book them this far out that they will change the flight times. I'm getting very impatient waiting for SW to release their schedule for May 19 - 27. HELP!! I don't know what to do. Wanda

I've seen many posts about time changes, but we have flown AT many times and only experienced slight changes (perhaps 15 minutes). I guess we have been lucky. We also like SW, but also gave up on waiting. Schedules are now less than 4 months out.

they do change their flight times, but not by a lot. i booked my flight for my trip coming up in 2 weeks in july, and it has changed by maybe 40 minutes. it was a problem because i was actually going to be in after my husband, but my rooms are booked under my name with my AP and i was afraid that he wouldn't be able to check in, but when i called them they switched me to an earlier flight since the flight i booked changed. but there are several flights a day from chicago...if there are fewer flights, it could be a problem. you could check with them if they have a policy regarding rebates if the flight changes by a significant amount of time. TED did that for me a few years ago. Good luck!! :Pinkbounc

My flight changed by 4 hours. Was suppose to leave at 6:30pm and was nonstop to MCO--now leaving at 2:30pm. We booked these tickets so my daughters softball team wouldn't have to miss a day of school. I think this is a drastic change!! They told me it might change back or maybe to a different time. Flight isn't until April. It has changed by minutes at least 3 more times. Keeping our fingers crossed. They have never notified us of the change yet--I found it when I went to recheck the prices.

Yes. Airtran does change their flight times. Usually just by 15 minutes or so. They sometimes cancel flights all together. Sometimes without proper notice...but you will be given another flight without a change fee or your money back.

BUT, if you are willing to check every so often to make sure things haven't changed--they offer great service at great prices!

I booked with Airtran on 10/6 and my flight home on 1/23 from WDW has changed 2 times.

Original Departure: 8:40p
Changed to: 6:40
Now 6:10

I am really disappointed. I booked a late flight so that we could have a full day before we left. :confused3 My last day seem to be getting shorter and shorter.

We are flying Airtran for the first time in January. Our flight has changed once by about 40 minutes since I booked the flight many months ago. It hasn't changed now in about four months. I'm hoping this is it, but I do check frequently just to be sure.

We are flying Air Tran and it has only changed one time it was movied by less then an hour.

We flew AirTran for the first time 1 1/2 ago. On the flight down the time did not change and on the return flight it changed by 10 mts. I guess we were pretty lucky. I've heard on this forum that they change their times alot (I didn't know that when I booked). Good luck.

AirTran changed our Saturday flight a few months ago from 6:45pm to 5pm. Would have liked the extra time in the parks.

The thing that bothered me is that no one called and told me. I just happened to be checking the prices and noticed the time difference.
