Airtran Credit

So I had to change our trip from May to March Break and of course the SWA flights I had booked were double to go in March, so I used my credits to book the departing flight, but could only afford to come back using Airtran. And....OF COURSE the very next morning the Airtran flight I booked dropped $120 for the two of us!! So I called, and of course all they would give me was a credit.
My question is, can you use this credit to change your flight? (they charge $75 for a flight change). Just wondered, in case the flight drops at another time that I like better. Thanks!

Most credits on airlines can only be used to pay for flights, they cannot be used for upgrades, baggage fees, etc. I am not sure AirTran is any different as I don't fly them, but I'm thinking not.

I JUST called AirTran with a similar question . My sisters are flying to Key West next month and they have some credit due to their flight price going down after they booked. I asked the AirTran CS agent if their credit could be used to pay their baggage fees and/or to upgrade to business class. I was told that it could . When I check them in on-line, I need to go through the process (selecting the number of bags they will have and business class upgrade) and then call AirTran before the payment section. They will be thrilled .

That's great to hear, since I'll have two bags to check coming home - but there is no way to do it online with the confirmation number??? We won't have internet the day before we come home, and I was just going to check in at the front desk, but if I have to call at that point, I guess I can just ask the CM to dial for me? It would be easier to do online though.
