Does anyone know if Airtran issues a credit if your fair drops? I booked flights from PHL to MCO two days ago at $212 RT and today it's around $184 RT. TIA!

I've flown AT for years and have asked (a few times;) ) that my fare be reduced when this happens, i've always been told NO. Unless I'd like to pay the now $60 change fee.:confused3

Of course, I 'm sure someone will post with their success.:rolleyes1

Have you called CS & asked, good luck!

I've always received a credit from AirTran when my fares have dropped. It is a credit toward a future flight that's good for 1 year from the ORIGINAL booking date. Not a credit back to your credit card. You can do this only one time per flight. This is the first time I've heard of someone being charged a change fee. The only thing I can think of is that possibly you have to be an A+ Rewards member???? They've never said anything to me about it, but my member number is on the reservation. I sure hope they haven't changed their policy!!

Our fare dropped on Airtran and I was issued a credit for future use.

I just looked, I too just spent $212 rt (PHL-MCO), the same dates are now $187. Which times 4 is $100 savings, but the flight times are different. The flight I originally booked is higher than $212. My assumption is, If I changed the flight time to the less expensive flight they would charge me the $60 change fee per ticket. If it was my flight, that I already booked, they'd probably issue a credit towards future purchase.....

I'll keep watching, see if my flight goes down...I'm guessing it won't at this point, we're upto $131 for the fight down, but the flight back changed to $84 from $94.....(plus taxes)....

Can I request a credit for the return flight only?:confused3

Not sure if I would/could use the credit within 1 year, but you never know....

I've called before in the same situation and have been told no but I thought I saw a post on the boards a few days ago that said they did get a credit. I'm only looking for credit toward a future flight, we always fly Airtran so I'll use it! Thanks for all the responses, I'd be glad to hear of anyone else's experiences!

When's the last time you got this accommodation?

They permit the one time change for "voucher'd or reward" travel; with it being good 1 year from the date of BOOKING not the fly-date.

I called today and asked again and was absolutely NOT! Unless I had the type of fare w/pre-assigned seats that a TA would book, etc.

We're reward customers too:confused: :confused3 Wonder if one of the cases where it's up to the discretion of the person you talk to/luck of the draw?

We received a credit on several different occasions in Nov. and possibly one in Dec. ( We had a couple of trips booked and my sister had one). I can't remember for sure on the Dec. one. But I do know that we've never been refused. I didn't make a flight change, I just called and told them I had a flight booked and that the price had gone down and I'd like a credit for the difference. All of the flight I've gotten credit for were web specials or discount coach. Never booked a fare that would qualify for pre-assigned seating. What I can't remember is if I called the regular 800 number or the A+ rewards number.

I just called AirTran about an hour ago because our return nonstop flight in October from Orland to Detroit dropped from $89/pp to $27/pp. The AirTran rep gave me a $124 credit to use by January 2008. I've done this before last year when our fare dropped in price.

BTW, this AirTran rep also changed our Orlando-Detroit flight to a later afternoon flight (also nonstop) without any hassle.

Ugh, my flights just dropped from $212 pp to $152 pp! I called and they were able to give me credit towards a future flight. I really appreciated that but I could kick myself for not waiting, lol!
