I just got an email from air tran asking if I would accept the 10 min. change or I had the option to change flights. This is the 2nd change.
Do they really think there schedule is accurate within 10minutes?
I read the email for 15 minutes thinking, what am I missing? Nope, only a 10 min. Change.
The good thing is, if I had wanted to change to a day earlier or later I would have had the chance.

Just an FYI for new Airtran travelers

I actually like when Airtran makes a slight adjustment to flight times. As you say, it then gives me the option to make a change if I want to for free!

This trip I'm actually hoping Air Tran changes my husband's flight time. After we booked the trip, but before we booked the flights, his work schedule was rearranged and it came out that he had to work that weekend and was told he could not start his vacation until that Monday. I booked my flight to leave early Saturday morning April 30th and his for early Monday morning May 2nd. Right after I booked the flights, his boss changed his mind and agreed to let someone else work for him that weekend. If Air Tran would just change his flight, I could move his flight up and hopefully put him on my Saturday flight or at least have him fly in on Sunday. Like me, he wants all the time at WDW that he can get.:rotfl: Come on Air Tran change the time on that May 2nd flight!

Mine too!! I  when they do this!
I definitely use it to our advantage. I was just able to change to another non-stop flight later in the day rather than the 8:00 a.m. flight we originally booked!

I would not bother and instead would let things be. But it may be necessary to telephone and reselect seats.
boss changed his mind
Does Airtran let you just report to the airport and stand by for an earlier flight?

Only for same day flights - and his would be two days later.

This is better than American. They just change it and never send you an email. But when you call them about it, they tell you that you were notified.

Don't accept the change from Airtran.

They leave you on the flight even if you don't accept it and then you can change your flight anytime. We went to Disney a few years ago and they had changed our return trip home. My niece made it into the American Idol Experience Finale on our departure day. We called Airtran and since we had never accepted the time change - they put us on a flight the next morning for no charge! You have the option to change as long as you never hit accept!!

Airtran changed our times in a big way the other day. They did let us just change arrival and departure day with no hassle. Love the change on arrival to Disney but now we have a 8:15 am departure instead of a 3:20pm. Really hope they move that time a little later. Customer service with Airtran is so nice and really efficient when you call.

Boy, I would love for them to change our arrival times. Right now we won't be getting to the MCO until 4:41pm. I would really like to get there before noon but the only flight I could find left prior to 7am which was too early for us.

I don't mind a slight change in time (anything less than 30 minutes +/-) however they changed a non-stop to a 1 stop flight on me once. Thankfully I had enough time to cancel and switch to JB.

They've done it to me twice now for my trip coming up in a few weeks. Both times the change was about 10 min. later. I was actually praying they would change the time because I found a flight on JB I liked much better. I called & told them the new time didn't work & got a credit for the full price I paid & am now booked on JB for my return flight home. I'll likely use the credit for a trip in the fall.

Airtran changed my flight time by 15 min. Since I booked with them the cost of the flights from the airport near my house have gone down (closest airport with Airtran is an hour away). I was able to cancel my flight for a full refund and rebook with another carrier at the airport closer to my house for less!

You can do that with Delta too. We were on a 10:00 flight coming home and meanwhile they had added a 12:30, which we would have preferred.

Sure enough, a few months after we booked, they changed the 10:00 to 9:30, so we were able to switch to the 12:30 without a fee and were happy about that. Figured we could take our time a little more on our last morning. I think we will be tired and appreciate some extra time to get moving!

Delta is much more hit or miss than Airtran. It is not their official policy. My dad was on a flight that got him home 2 hours laters at midnight instead of 10 pm and they would not let him change it.

United let me change. I booked a flight to WDW that got me in at 7:15 pm..didn't want it that late, but was a huge difference in price. They moved it to an 8 pm arrival....
So I called and explained that the 7:15 arrivial was already later than I was happy with...they moved me to a flight that gets in at 6:04....much better for me!

Airtran really put the works on my wife and her friend. They ran in the Princess Race and were scheduled to fly back (non-stop) and arrive by 12PM. When they arrived at the airport they went to the Airtran ticket counter and the person MARKED ON THE TICKET THE GATE NUMBER. When they arrived at the gate there was a long line so they didn't pay attention. When they got upfront the attendant said they were in the wrong line and the gate number was changed. NO ANNOUNCEMENT was done over the PA to let people know so they rushed down to the gate and were told they were late and could not board because they were "late." They got the next flight and when they entered the attendant told them there was no 10 minute boarding time. Found out later the originally flight was overbooked and Airtran found it convenient to say they were late. Not only were the ticket people rude but the Manager basically told my wife and her friend they wouldn't do anything because they were late...which they weren't. Not only did they not offer a future ticket for THERE SCREW UP...they didn't even apologize.
