Airtran Booking

I just booked my flights to Disney with Airtran with credits and now want to book my flights home.

Airtran has the flight listed as $370 while Kayak shows it at $99 and the other sites are listing it at $99 as well.

I called Airtran to ask what was going on and she said the flight was almost sold out. It is for Sept. 26 and was just released 2 days ago - so I was shocked. I checked online and only 9 seats out of about 150 have sold...

anyway let's pretend she is right and the fare will never come down - I want to book with one of the sites currently selling it at $99 BUT I have $400 in airtran gift certificates. Does anyone know if there are any 3rd party sites that would take the airtran GC as payment? I doubt there is but I just wanted to ask in case I was wrong!

Thanks!

I've noticed that sometimes the sale fares (like the web fares) are posted on third party sites (like Kayak) before they get into AirTran's system. I booked my August trip soon after AirTran released the August schedule. The same thing happened to me - when I looked at the price on Kayak or Priceline, it would show at $80 a ticket, but when I linked from Kayak onto Airtran, the price doubled. I kept checking back throughout the day - within a couple of hours, the $80 fare showed up on AirTran's site.

I'm not positive that's what happening to you, but it sounds like it might be.

Good luck!

You're right!! It finally dropped on Airtran - we are booked and ready to go!!
