Looking into flights from Philly to Orlando and got very excited to see $89 one way fares, only problem was I don't want to return early in the morning so that flight back is $179. YIKES!!! No bargain there.

I will keep watching them though, and would like to know if anyone has any good/bad reviews.

We flew on AirTran a couple years ago. No complaints. It was just like every other airline we flew on.

If the price were right, I would use them again, but it would have to be real cheap. Since flying out of Atlantic City, on Spirit, I don't think I will be flying out of Philly to Orlando, anytime soon!

We have flown Air Tran to WDW twice & have had to complaints at all. In fact, we drove to an airport an hour further away from our home because Air Trans prices were so much cheaper than the carriers closer to our home. I would certainly use them again if the price were right.

We fly Airtran often and the flights have always been great. I just booked August flights to Tamps earlier this week when they had a 2 day sale - $79 each way. They usually run other specials out of PHL when Southwest opens their flights. Only one word of caution. They may change their schedules so if you have real time constraints, keep checking the flights. Our flights in March changed and the one change did not work for us.I called them and they switched the flight for us that is actually better than the original. Keep in mind, this can happen with any airline, especially if you book the flight way in advance. I used to fly US Air but Airtran was giving better prices and I still have concerns about US Air being around in August. Airtran and Southwest can have competive pricing but I like being able to get assigned seating and boarding passes with Airtran. That said, I have flown Southwest when the price was much better. Overall, Aritran is my airline of choice out of Phila right now. If I lived on the other side of the river in NJ, I would be looking into Spirit out of Atlantic City. We flew them years ago when they fly out of Phila and they were great, especailly for the price.
Good Luck!

DH & I flew out of Philly to MCO on AirTran last summer. We went out of our way b/c the flight was significantly cheaper than flying out of Newark. The tickets were still $230 each? but they were $320+ out of Newark! Anyway, actual flight was fine. Only comment is try not to get seats in the last row. I don't know if this is with all airlines, but we were in the last row on the way back and we couldn't recline our seats, they were straight up against a wall. Very uncomfortable.

We flew AirTran to MCO a few weeks ago. It was a fine experience and at $89 each way, the cheapest way to get there. They did change the flight times but only by a few minutes each way. Good luck.

I like Airtran. We went last week out of Philly and flew down with Southwest and came back with Airtran. It is much more relaxing knowing you are assigned a seat with Airtran.

As far as prices go, sign up for their emails. They often have one day sales and will email you about them in advance. Usually, most flights go on sale- you just have to catch them at the right time. We got $79 a seat. This was our first trip to Disney and I was anxious just to book flights- that was the only reason I picked Southwest for the first flight. If I had been patient, I could have gotten AirTran for both ways for the same price.

We had no problems with either flight, Airtran was less stress.

Good luck getting your flights! :flower:

We've flown them a number of times and the price can't be beat! For us, great prices, non-stop flights and great service. I agree that you should sign up for their emails and watch for a better price on your return flight. GL!

Flew with them back in 2000 because I needed 7 tickets and the price was right, we had very little problem. Flight down from Akron to Orlando was uneventful, the flight back with a layover in Atlanta was delayed for hours.

Flying down again in June, only 3 of us this time and still took a chance and booked a non-direct flight to save money. This time flying US Air, I know, I know, they are having problems but I'm pretty secure that they will still be flying at least through the summer. Flying out of Cleveland, round trip with tax and fees $132.40 each. The times were very good, the only drawback as I mentioned earlier is that we don't have direct flights. Still, I have not been able to beat the rates that I got.

We've flown Airtran twice and they were great. From where we live (Dayton) it is definitely the best option -- daily nonstop to/from MCO.
