Have never flown over Thanksgiving, but this year we are surprising DD with a family trip (us - 3; both sets of grandparents - 4; my brother/her godfather, his girlfriend & her kids - 4) to WDW for her birthday. We were planning on flying down Friday morning, but its cheaper to fly on Thanksgiving & checking in a night earlier to the Pop Century.

Anyone have any advice on Philly and/or Orlando for Thanksgiving? I'm trying to decide if I approach the rest of the family with the new travel plan. I'm not sure how much resistance I'll have & I want to be prepared with facts!

TIA!!!

We flew on T-day last year and the airport wasn't bad at all. We did leave early AM but I thought I was told T-day was slow it was the day before and the Sunday after that were awful.

DH flew out of MCO last Thanksgiving Day and airport was not busy and the rate was cheap, much cheaper than the day before.

We flew out of PHL this past TG. We had a noon-ish flight. Our valet from Winner Parking (we love Winner btw!) told us that the airport had been completely crazy that morning and we were panicking a little bit since we were running late. Fortunately by late morning it had slowed down a lot and wasn't crazy at all.

I think the day before (Wednesday) and the Sunday after are the busiest days.
