I have received confirmation by email stating that I made my reservations with Continental on April 5. Just wondering if I need E tickets in my hand to check in...or a copy of the email( of course my printer is not working) I have called Continental and asked for E tickets by mail...and have not received them yet. Every time I have called to ask about this they were not too concerned and said all I needed was my confirmation number. Has anyone had a situation like this... should I be more concerned? What should I be doing? Thanks We leave Tuesday. PS also where can I buy those cable ties to put on suitcases?

When I flew last December with Continental they had kiosks where you inserted an ID card and it pulled you your record and printed your boarding pass. It took all of 3 minutes to go through the machine and put our luggage on the belt for x-ray.

Normally all you need at the airport is your confirmation number and photo ID, but it is a good idea to have some written confirmation such as the ticket receipt printed off the internet.

To print your boarding pass at an automated kiosk (participating airlines only) at the airport saving the wait in the ticket line, you plug in your confirmation number or use the credit card that purchased the ticket or using your frequent flyer card.

The printed copy comes in handy in the rare event your reservation got corrupted in the airline's computer reservation system.

You are going out on a limb every time you transact any business on the internet without succeeding in doing a print screen.

Very true. If you don't have a printer handy, you can always save the document to your hard drive, copy it to a disk and take it somewhere to be printed.

We only fly Continental and US AIR (FF miles ;)) all you need is your drivers license or confirmtion number.I have yet been asked to show my e-ticket confirmation in the last 4 years. As the above posters have mentioned, the kiosks are very easy and fast to use.

My DH is flying down the day after the kids and I leave. I'm wondering, does he need my credit card to use the check-in kiosk since it was my card that was used to book the tickets?

If the credit card is the same account it shouldn't make a difference. My wife and I always use the kiosk, and use our own credit card(same acct) when getting our boarding passes.

The e ticket came in the mail today...what a relief. Thanks so much for all your replys. Happy Easter!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce:

I can speak with 100% authority on Continental Airlines. I am a Platinum elite flyer on Continental. I flew over 100,000 miles on CO and am very familiar with the check in process. Your husband will not need your credit card. The only reason it asks for your credit card is for identification purposes.

Example: I purchased a e-ticket for a friend on my credit card. She obviously does not have access to my CC. She approached the eticket machine in her home city and inserted her CC into the machine for identification purposes only. The machine processed her boarding pass with no problems.

Additonal Comments for CO -

You can now print boarding passes online if you are not checking any bags. Just go to www.continental.com and click on travel center then select Flight Check in. This saves alot of time. You can head directly to security and completely bypass the ticket counters.

If you are checking luggage don't just be like lambs to the slaughter and stand in the regular check in line. You can check luggage at the kiosk stations in the main ticket lobby. Most times there is no one in line here while the regular line is a mile long. If you have a problem (ie, seats not together) go ahead and still check in using the machine then when you go to the luggage check in stand the agent there will help you. This way you bypass the mile long "regular" line.

If you need a copy of a reservation just go directly to www.contiental.com and select travel center then select manage reservations. You enter your confirmation number and last name and you can print out additional copies of your confirmation.

If anyone else has specific questions about Continental airlines please feel free to ask.
