Hi,
I need your help. I am doing a solo trip to DL in early 08 and need to find the best way to get from LAX to the Desert inn and suites (Outside the main gates of the park).

Unlike my recent trips to WDW wHere transfers were easy, I am struggling to get any help regarding this issue for DL.

If anybody can help, I would really appreciate it. :thumbsup2

Thanks

Check out the LAX website for info on ground transportation:

http://www.lawa.org/lax/laxGT.cfm

It's a good 45 minutes from the airport to Disneyland, so ground transport isn't cheap. There are several options for towncars or shuttle vans that are available. Taxi service would be prohibitive in cost, and rental cars--though a fairly reasonable option, pricewise--might be frightening for you.

Good luck!

Don't forget the Disneyland Express. It worked perfectly for us!

Do a google search for disneyland express and then when you are at the site click on airport transfers.

Are very interested in this and glad to hear you have used the service. We are flying into Santa Ana airport and staying a the Grand Californian. Does this service take long to get from the airport to the varous resorts.
Thank you so much.

We used both Supershuttle (Exclusive van, Port of LA to Disneyland) and Disneyland Express (DL to airport)
They were both excellent, and didn't take long at all!
Our travel days were a Wednesday and a Sunday.
Both had great service, and were quick, efficient and courteous.

Brenda, We flew in to LAX and it only took about 50 minutes to get to the Disneyland Hotel, even though part of the freeway was shut down because they were shooting a movie. This is the first stop where they check your prepaid tickets or you can pay. The next two stops were Paradise Pier and the Grand Californian but I can't remember which was first. I believe the trip is shorter from the Santa Ana airport.

I would choose SuperShuttle (or something similar) over this for 2 reason:

1. Cost, SuperShuttle from SNA to DL is $10 per person, $4 less than DisneyExpress

2. SuperShuttle only holds 7 (I think) passengers, so you are basically guaranteed a maximum of about 3 stops, the bus holds more passengers so it has the potential for more stops and I'm not sure what the order of stops is.

The santa ana airport is about 15 miles from the DL resort. Depending on how many people are in your party it might be more cost efficient to take a taxi. A cab will run you between 30-35 dollars.

From LAX since it's so far away I would probably do the supershuttle.

Hello, I just returned from Disneyland today. My first time flying to Disneyland (I live in CA and usually drive). I flew to the Santa Ana airport which is closer than LAX, and hopped on the Disney Express shuttle. Met up with some friends who were staying at the Grand Californian. The cost was $14.00 for a one way trip.

Even though this shuttle won't exactly take you to the Desert Inn, the Inn is near by and within walking distance. You don't need proof that you are staying at any of the Disney Hotels, they just ask where you are headed so they know where to stop since there's more than one hotel at the Disney Resort. If you decide to use this service I would find out which hotel is closest to the Desert Inn, you can also ride this back to the airport. And find out what their schedule is, think it's an hour between shuttles.

Travel time from Santa Ana to Disney was about 15 minutes, didn't run into any traffic. And it's not exactly a shuttle, it's a huge bus like a tour bus.

Thanks everybody for here fantastic responses, it has really helped.:thumbsup2

We are flying into SNA and also wondering who we should book with to get to our hotel. What about the greyline? has anyone used them? how many stops do they make? How far is SNA to DL?
