I am trying to figure this out.....

We have the Disney Dream booked for January out of PC. I am in PA. What airport is near there? Should I be booking to fly into Phila from the Orlando International Airport or is there a better choice.

Prior to this cruise we are doing 5 days at Disney. Any recommendations on who to get the transport us from AKV to the port?

Thank You,
Stacy

Almost everybody uses MCO when flying in for a cruise or Disney.

As far as getting to/from the port, you've got a choice of having your TA book the Disney transfers ($35/per person each way), or booking a limo service. Which is more cost beneficial will depend on the size of your party.

I have also done 1-day car rentals to get to the Port. Budget has a convenient shuttle that brings you back to the ship, or from ship to car to return to MCO.

Melbourne is closer to Port Canaveral (31.6, vs 44.2 miles according to Google maps), but if you are going to Disney first, Orlando make a lot more sense to fly into. If you were thinking about doing different airport back, you can check into Melbourne. However, I think it is usually a lot more expensive than Orlando.

I have looked into flying into Melbourne, but it tends to be cost prohibitive, as well as inconvenient. I find that the flights in and out of there are not great...and always include connections.
It's much easier to just fly into MCO and either rent a car or take the DCL shuttle bus...depending on the size of your group you may even want to book a car service.

We rent a car from somewhere on Disney property (cheapest lol)drive to PC, they take you to the Port and then I rent one to go back to the airport...it is still cheaper than paying for transfers.

Just be sure the company you use actually has a shuttle to and from the port. I've heard reports that Alamo doesn't have a shuttle but that may have changed.
