Is it worth paying £35 each for this. The Virgin one includes a massage, hair cut or manicure. Our flight is 11.15 so dont know if we would benefit from it or not. Any opinions.

Dont know about the Virgin lounge but we used the guest house at Sanford on the way home last year and it was great.

You are away from the hustle of the main airport, no queues for the loo and our flight was delayed by 2 hours so it was well worth it.

I would always book it again on the way back but probbly never use one on the way there, I am usually too excited to worry about relaxing!

Also ours was only £10pp for free drinks, hot & cold and two alcoholic drinks and snacks, internet, films & t.v so wether you get the massage or not you have def' paid for it!

:)

The VA Clubhouse is great we got a massage and two breakfasts on Dec 29th for the £35 fee from VH :) We were also on the VS027 and we boarded on time but were still in the lounge for about 3 hours.

can I ask what you ate for your breakfast, I thought it was only snack food?

We've used it on many occasions and we'll continue to do so, but it's so hard to quantify whether or not it would be 'worth it' for someone else.

It's a pleasant environment away from the hubbub of the airport. We figure we would most likely pay inflated prices for a mediocre breakfast in the airport, so we can immediately deduct that from the £35 cost. There are both hot and cold options. You won't get a huge plate full, but there's nothing to stop you ordering more than one. I'll often have something like scrambled egg and smoked salmon on an English muffin and then one or two items from the buffet later on. You can help yourselves to cereal, juices, smoothie shots, yoghurts, pastries, bagels, croissants, etc. There is no limit to the amount of food or alcolhol you can consume. We've never noticed a reluctance to serve anyone or any kind of judgemental body language, although I'm sure they would refuse to serve anyone who was becoming drunk. When we were there with friends in April (4 adults) we got through 3 bottles of champagne - they just kept bringing them.

There's also an internet room where you can get online and DIS for a while. :thumbsup2

We normally check in early (around 7am) so that we can get through security, do a bit of duty free shopping and then settle in to the lounge. They will announce your flight about half an hour before it's due to leave, so we often depart the lounge and, by the time we get across to the gate, walk straight on to the plane. If there are any delays, they'll keep you updated, so there's no need to leave the lounge until you absolutely have to.

Hi,
We used the Clubhouse last month and paid £25 each on the day, just went upstairs to lounge and paid at the counter. Makes a really nice start to the holiday imho.

Mick.

Many frequent flyers (Gold) and UC pax are not happy about this change in VS policy.
It is felt that this diminutes the UC experiance, too many "Shell suits" around these days <VBG>
I would make the most of it as I see it changing back very soon.

It is worth evry penny, there is no other set of clubhouses around as good as the VS ones. Now if they could sort out their on board quality drop, then that would be nice...

The Kitchen is back at full working order again after the fire they had.

For breakfast I had smoked salmon and scrambled egg with hollandaise sauce while DH had the full breakfast of sausage, bacon and egg. Then for my second breakfast I ahd a bacon brioche and DH had the full brekkie again!
