We're planning to stay at the Hyatt at Orlando airport our first night in. Is it very loud in the rooms? I'm a little worried about the planes and lobby/airport area noise. The res on the Hyatt website listed the room as sound proof. Anyone have any experience?

We stayed there in mid December just before our Disney cruise. The only noise we had to deal with were the renovation work that was going on. Checked in after a night flight from Seattle, they let us check in by 9AM, and they put us in a room in an area where renovations were taking place. We no sooner lay down to take a nap than this horrendous banging sound started coming from above. It went on for 5-10 minutes, stopped for a short while, and continued. We called the front desk and learned they were replacing the carpeting in the room above us. So, we asked to move. We were moved to a room overlooking the runway and though we periodically heard planes, it wasn't bad.

Oh, and the first room overlooked the courtyard into the Airport and I didn't hear anything. Overall we had a good stay there, especially after they moved us, and would stay there again. Not sure if renovations are still taking place but make sure you ask first.

We stayed 2 years ago the night before our cruise left and it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. I am such a light sleeper and believe me no noise from the planes or the lobby. Our room was slightly to the left of the rooftop pool on a side corridor . hope this helps.

We stayed there last February in a room overlooking the airport fountains area....where the big xmas tree goes, and it was VERY sound proofed. We slept well.
Last Tuesday we stayed during the day (10 am - 6pm for $75.) and we had a runway view room, which we really enjoyed BTW, and we did hear a little jet noise. I didn't see any type of renovations going on. I spent most of my time there sitting by the pool. Loved it!

We stay there every trip to Orlando. We've only had runway views and I think the rooms are very quiet. I have heard 3 or 4 of the 747's come in and go back out but that's it. Nothing that would have kept me up. I have heard some reports about the interior rooms having more noise because of the fountain and passengers. With all that said...definitely book the Hyatt!

DH and I stayed once - very quiet - of course we were surprised - it's located in an airport! But it was quiet.

Enjoy your stay!
