How far from Disneyland is John Wayne Airport in terms of time! Is it a better choice than flying into LAX? Is there a Magical Express type set up at Disneyland?

Thank You
Nagle

SNA is John Wayne airport and it's about a 20 minute taxi trip.
I don't even consider LAX. Too much hassle and about an hour or more for transport.

I've never used the Bus. We just get a taxi for a flat rate and head to DLR.

Also check Long Beach, especially if flying Southwest. They are a bit farther than SNA, but with the cheaper flights, it still might be the better deal after factoring in the extra taxi cost or Uber. Flat rate taxi prices is $45.

Another vote for SNA. We prefer to fly into this one and we just get an Uber to our hotel. Unless something has changed I think the Disney bus is only available out of LAX. We took it once years ago when we flew into LAX but we definitely prefer SNA and Uber.

SNA is SO, SO, SO much better than LAX. No Magical Express out here. You Uber/Lyft, taxi, or rent a car. Careful with renting a car as many hotels charge parking ($20/day for Disney hotels). I flew into SNA and think it was like a 15 min Uber to DLH. LAX was like an hour and on top of the time: it's LAX. Which sucks.

We are flying into SNA. We did LAX last time because we did the usual LA touristy stuff, in addition to Legoland. This time, we are only doing DLR. If you plan to rent a car, LAX is a nuisance as the rentals are not on-site.

another vote for SNA - so close and easy to get to everything. We rented a car b/c we were there for over a week and did beach and LA days.

No ME at DLR. Too may airports and too few folks flying in.

Do they not have the Disneyland Express bus anymore? I know it's not the same setup as DME but we definitely took a Disneyland bus from LAX using prepaid vouchers on a couple of our earlier trips. I don't really pay attention to the bus anymore because we've done taxi/Uber for so long now so maybe they don't offer it anymore?

SNA is the closest and easiest airport of the 3. Long Beach is quite a bit further but if you get a fantastic deal it might be worth it, maybe. LAX is the pit of misery and is to be avoided at all costs imho.

They do have the Disneyland Express out of SNA and LAX, it is a charge. I believe a little bit cheaper from SNA.

SNA is the closest and LGB (Long Beach) is not much further. Both are easy....LGB has flat rate $45 taxis to DLR area (the meter shows more, but you pay the flat rate.) No Disneyland Express bus from LGB. (Plenty of shuttles as well....PrimeTime, supershuttle and more.)

Uber also now picks up at Long Beach. We love SNA, but prices on Southwest were getting more expensive for us. We can always get $49 or $59 flights to Long Beach. This coming trip we fly into SNA and fly out of LGB. I am excited to fly into SNA again, because we know that means we will get to the parks faster. :)

As others have said, yes they do. At a certain point depending on group size, Uber or taxi is more cost effective and time efficient. I have not broken down the numbers lately but I suspect when you have two people Uber or taxi is competitive with any shuttle out there including DL Express.

Yeah that’s why we quit using it. Taxi was cheaper and now Uber is even cheaper.

Are you able to fly direct to John Wayne. We are in Calgary and the only direct flight we can get is to LAX and no matter how much closer any other airport is it doesn't make up for the time of a connecting flight. Now, this next trip will be our 5th trip flying into LAX and it's not a big deal at all!
