 when you check in at airport, do you have to let airline know your part of ME? what if it is a participating airlime w/ ME? are just ME tags good enough? also, do you have to do anything special when gate checking a stroller? thanx for the help. first time traveling w/ ds, 2. can we also store carseat travel bag in overhead? :earboy2: :flower: :cool1:

one month to go!!!

You don't have to tell your airline anything. Just have the ME tags on your bags. I don't have an answer about the gate check question sorry.

Going to Disney, the Magical Express procedure is the same for all airlines.

When you gate check a stroller (or anything else) you retrieve it yourself just when you get off the plane or, rarely, at the carousels.

You may store the carseat travel bag in the overhead bin assuming the bag is within the size and weight limits and within your carryon allowance in terms of number of items.

Outside of the Orlando airport, no one cares about DME, no one knows about DME, and no one needs to know. All that happens is when ALL luggage from EVERYWHERE arrives at MCO, there are people who look for the special DME tags and pull those suitcases from the usual stream that heads on up to the baggage clain carousels. So NO AIRLINE CARES whether your Orlando-bound luggage is going to be handled by DME. It makes no difference whatsoever.

Good enough for what??? The DME tag is the only way workers at MCO will know your luggage goes to DME.

When you arrive at your gate (the place where you board the airplane), tell them you'll need to gate check your stroller, and they'll give you a tag to fill out. If you print out your boarding passes at home or at a kiosk, go to the gate desk BEFORE BOARDING so you don't hold up the line and yourself while you stroller is labeled for gate checking. You'll take the stroller all the way down the jetway, but JUST BEFORE you board the airplane itself, Junior and all your belongings have to get out of the stroller. You just leave it there, tagged, and someone will get it. When you get off the airplane at MCO, step aside there at the beginning of the jetway (to let everyone else by) and wait for someone to bring your stroller up to you, and then you can give Junior a ride up the jetway and into the airport, etc. As for the car seat storage bag, store it wherever you would store any carry on, which is either under the seat in front of you or in one of the overhead compartments.

I just flew with my 2 pre-schoolers for the first time last month; I've flown often, but never with them before. No problems. Emjoy your vacation!
