We are flying later this summer and usually fly out of Dayton, OH to avoid the Cincinnati prices. We now have to buy 5 tickets up from 3 the last time we flew. We are also considering the 3 airports mentioned in the subject. Can anyone offer on any or all of these locations in regards to ease of long term parking, issues with getting around the outside roadways, which airlines are the busiest, etc. Thanks for any light that you might shed on this subject.

Brad--

We've flown Southwest from IND to MCO a couple times. Delta and ATA also go, as I recall. Long-term parking is pretty easy to navigate and there are nearby contract lots too. The IND web site has a section about parking....there are actually a couple of tiers of LT based on proximity (that vary by price, of course). Don't know how it compares to LT at Louisville and Columbus, but it's a piece of cake compared to places like O'Hare and Detroit.

We flew out of Louisville last July, on a Tues and a Thurs and was surprised at how slow it was. Absolutely wonderful experience. Can't tell you anything about LT parking though.

LT parking is $8/day and very easy to get to the terminal from the parking lot. We like flying out of there (Louisville). Southwest fares are usually pretty good, but Indy is cheaper :)

We live in Louisville, the LT parking is rarely if ever crowded, $8/day and shuttle always seems to be lurking around to pick you up, but if you park close to the walkway it is still faster to walk. Small airport, friendly and easy to use. Only time we have had much wait for security was in the early AM's on weekdays. I don't know what your flight times or driving distance is, but if you spend the night at any of the hotels near the airport (Executives, HI Express, Comfort Inn etc) you can leave your car there for free and use their complimentary shuttle to/from the airport. If you are planning on being gone for a week or more it can wind up being cheaper than just the parking alone at the airport.

We are flying out of Indy for our April WDW trip ($114RT total vs. $241RT out of Louisville...x 4 of us, the savings make it worth a 2 hour drive). We also flew out of Lexington once because fares were substantially cheaper, check there too...it is a tiny airport with practically front door LT parking!!

CVG fares are always outrageous... don't know why, but we never flew anyplace from there even when we lived in Cinci several years ago.

I always forget to check Lexington, LOL....we drive right by Bluegrass Field any time we visit my parents, too.

my brother works at CVG and it's the only reason he flies out of there :)

ATA and SWA have n/s flights from IND to MCO. For airfares check: www.ata.com or www.southwest.com

Going from the Cincinnati area to IND you would most likely take I-74 to the 465 loop or you might go to I-70 west. The airport is on the SW edge of Indy and just off of either 465 or I-70. Very easy airport to use and the airport has all kinds of parking lots or several private lots are available.

I fly out of IND 12-15 times a year. If you have any questions e-mail me at garymerr@comcast.net

Columbus airport is very easy to navigate. Delta express flys from here. Long term parking is I believe $6/day in the far lots with lots of shuttles but I usually use Sunpark which is about the same. The website for the Columbus airport also has some discount coupons for parking at times.

Also in Columbus is Rickenbacker airport that has Southeast Aitlines now flying out. It is a small airport and Southeast has great rates. I haven't flown with them yet but plan to check them out the next time I fly. I have heard good things about this airport.

Indianapolis has really good deals to MCO on ATA, I'm going on March 16-22 for only $142. The airport is not too crazy, it's easy to navigate and the long term parking isn't too badly priced. You should check out www.ATA.com because they tend to have better prices online than anywhere else. Good luck

SW matches ATA fares, but only has 1 NS per day from Indy to Orlando. Several connecting flights though...just check their web sites to see who has cheap seats available when you want to go.

We fly out of CVG. Dayton and Columbus. By far Columbus is the easiest to get in and out. Parking is cheaper and close. The gates are closer. With the Delta Express direct to MCO, it is by first choice to fly our family of 5. We live by Kings Island and time wise, I think we get to the Columbus gate fastest from our house than at CVG.
