I just went to rexall to redeem $20. But cashier said their system is down, so I couldn’t redeem airmiles...
Anyone in the same situation?

Just back from Rexall where I used cash miles for the first time! It feels funny to be such a newbie to something air miles-related, but there’s a first time for everything.

With no barcode and no record of the bonus on my receipt, I’ll be keeping my eye on things closely. but i got an email about redeeming miles, so hopefully i did everything right?

that plus samsung means i’m 2 down.

Just an update that my 26 $1 amazon purchases posted to my BMO MC all separately. So that seems to have worked.

I am helping DD to get the STB bonus. If she has no HBC Reward account, does she just sign up and opt in for the weekly automatic airmiles conversion and that’s it? Then I will have to wait to see if the 30 AM gets posted to know if it works, right? TIA!

I’m pretty sure this has worked in the past. I don’t have the old wording so I can’t check for certain, but I believe creating an account and setting up the auto convert is all you need to do.

Not really. But I signed her up last night using the link from STB site. I found another sign up bonus of 25 AM when I googled. STB is 30 miles so I think maybe this is how HBC can distinguish between STB and a regular sign up. I just checked DD's account.

It showed online enrollment 15 AM, not 30 AM. Does it mean I will have to track this down? What a pain!

Yes, but at Metro. They tried anyway and it went through, I was told I was the first one to work, that it had been down for awhile today.

Yes, this will work fine, follow the link, fill out the form & add your Airmiles number and you're good to go! You don't even need to ever buy/order anything from the Bay

I don’t really get what’s with Shell’s system. I bought the Amazon $50 gift card with STB coupon loaded properly with 30 AM in my receipt, but the cashier couldn’t activate the gift card. I had to refund the purchase and I was told that the system was down, so I couldn’t even get it from another Shell. Oh well, I will have to try again tomorrow!

I don't know that I'll be able to make it to 7 partners this time. The thresholds in Manitoba are too high. The plan right now:

1 airmilesshop - already done. Bought some skincare things from Sephora on Monday. 20% off and 10x multiplier. I should be getting 100 miles if my math is correct
2 staples - buying a Roomba as a Christmas gift for my H and I. I'll need to get them to price match it, which I'm not sure how exactly that works
3 shell
4 liquor mart
5 LCBO when we go visit family for Christmas
6 Rexall maybe
7 Safeway is unlikely, but will be more likely if there's a good blue friday sale
If I'm only missing one, I'll probably do the Miss Fresh one. Better return than Safeway

Using the price match with Staples for an online order is really tricky! You're *supposed* to call and place the order instead of ordering online but since their guarantee applies for the 14 days after your purchase you *might* be able to get reimbursed the difference. So this becomes a question of doing some rather confusing AM math and deciding which you would rather have: lower price on the item OR the extra AM for making the 7 coupons? US? we almost always go for the lower price to keep us within our rules for AM hunting -- never, ever, EVER buy something strictly for AM or pay (significantly) more for an item to get said AMs

Staples would cost an extra almost $400, so DEFINITELY not worth it. I'll give them a call after work to find out how exactly the price matching online works since they don't carry it in stores. And luckily the roomba is on sale on amazon without any mention of Black Friday, so I should be OK there.

In the past, did the STB bonus from airmilesshops come later? I shopped Amazon on the 15th, and got 20 bonus miles, but the 'shop the block' bonus is 50 AM. Thanks!
