airmiles for park tickets

So I just checked the airmiles website and it used to be for Universal Studios:

1Adult - 1Day/1Park = 875 miles
1 Adult - 2 Day/2Park = 1275miles

And I just looked and I'm seeing

1Adult - 1Day/1Park = 875miles
1 Adult - 2 Day/2Park = 1550

That is bananas!! We were going to be able to get enough miles to get it when it was 1275miles each but for two of us thats an extra 550miles!

I was afraid it was going to happen with the latest price increase, and I suppose considering Diagon Alley opening but still :guilty: Wasn't thinking by that much!! We were only going to do one Universal day but being able to get the 2Day/2Park ticket with the airmiles we were going to go the afternoon we arrive and atleast get 2-3 rides done so we didn't have to rush the next day. Not looking that we'll be doing that now :(

Help Please. Need current 2014 information.

re: UPGRADE AIRMILES ISSUED PARK HOPPER TICKETS TO ANNUAL PASS AT DISNEYLAND

Will be using Airmiles to get 5 Day Park Hopper Disneyland passes for Adult & Child.

1) Are these Airmiles issued DL Hopper Passes good to be used for upgrade to Annual Pass at Disneyland's Main Gate?

2) What "dollar" value does Disneyland give you to be used for upgrade to Annual Pass for (a) 5 Day Park Hopper & (b) 3 Day Park Hopper for BOTH Adult & Child. Would like to compare pricing.

3) Is there a Price printed on the Airmiles issued DL Hopper Passes AND do you get the "actual paper" ticket when you order from Airmiles?

4) What price is printed on Airmiles issued (a) 5 Day Park Hopper & (b) 3 Day Park Hopper for BOTH Adult & Child. Would like to compare pricing.

5) When is "last" possible moment we can upgrade to Annual Pass?

6) Can we use DL Hopper Passes to enter park on "last day" and decide later on the "last" day to upgrade to Annual Pass so long as we do so "before" Park closes?

7) If we upgrade our DL Hopper Passes on the "last" day to Annual Pass "before" we enter park and the upgrade day is a "Black Out" day for the Annual Pass can we still enter the park on this "Black Out" day?

8) Is it better to use the DL Hopper Pass to enter the park on the "Black Out" day and then upgrade later that same day before park closes?

9) If we use Park Hopper Ticket to enter park on "last" day and then upgrade to Annual Pass later in the day can we still "park hop" to the other park? Do we need to make sure we are done with "both" parks before we upgrade and upgrade on our way home before the ticket booths close?

10) Technically, our DL Hopper Pass would have allowed us to enter park on the "Black Out" day AND we could Park Hop. We do not want to lose a day because we upgraded to an Annual Pass on a "Black Out" day nor lose the "Park Hop" privileges.

11) What date is used for expiration date on the upgraded Annual Pass? Does the Annual Pass expire 1 year from the start of the "1st" day of Park Hopper entrance date OR on the "actual day of upgrade"? If the latter then this would mean we can delay the expiration of the annual pass by a few days.

12) Do the food discounts on Annual Pass work for "snack" kiosks like Dole Whip?

Thanks for your prompt reply. In a RUSH for the info.

We still need to order our Airmiles DL Park Hopper passes. Also, if these Airmiles issued passes are not upgradeable to Annual Pass we need to look for good pricing on tickets for "extra" days in Disneyland.

We have small kids so our money is better spent buying tickets for extra days at DL as opposed to spending comparable amounts on tickets for other parks (eg. Universal, Sea World) since we would have more options for entertainment by staying at DL more days.

Thanks again for your prompt reply and any help you can provide. Even if you don't have the answer to all the questions above, please answer what you can. Appreciate it. Have a good day!

I'm hoping to get 4 3-day park hopper tickets for next August (2015) for our trip to Disneyland. I've got enough miles for two already, working on the 3rd and 4th with a year to go so I doubt it will be a problem accumulating the miles I need (I live near a Safeway :goodvibes)

I'm curious about the expiry date and/or increase in prices. Right now we need 2160 air miles for a 3 day park hopper ticket. Is the expiry date the end of the year to use the tickets? (ie. Dec 31, 2015) or is it a certain amount of time after we order them? If it is for a year, would it be wise to order what I can in January just in case ticket prices go up next year?

I've checked out the info about the tickets on the airmiles site but I don't see anything about expiry dates.

Thanks!

I don't recall ever seeing expiry dates on US tickets. The only tickets I'm aware of that have expiry dates on are the Disneyland ones from Air Miles.

If you are talking about Disneyland in California then the tickets have an expiry date. Something like Jan-June and July- Dec.

It won't matter when you buy them....if they are valid from Jan-June and you buy them in May they still expire in June.

Yes, I am talking about Disneyland.

The Jan-June, July-Dec thing had me a little worried so I went through a dummy purchase to see if there was any more info on expiry dates on Air Miles. I signed in, navigated to the Entertainment/US Park Tickets/Disneyland Adult Park Hopper and then from the drop down menu where I could choose to redeem for either 3 or 5 day passes it says:

3 Day - 1 Oct/13 - 31 Dec/14

Same dates for the 5 day pass. So I carried on through to my cart and it says it is valid until December 31/14. Will have to see if this changes again in January. I'll do another dummy booking and see if the valid until date says June 2015 or later than that. I really hope it's valid for the year though, as we would have to wait until the 1st of July to order the tickets, and we leave for California on the 31st. Four weeks, but you never know if things get delayed.

Will keep others posted, and if someone else has experience with longer validity dates, please feel free to let us know.
