Airline tickets

I purchased my airfare through Disney and I can't get a straight answer. A CM told me I can check-in for my flight with my Disney Confirmation number, but the airline (Virgin America) says I need a 6 digit confirmation from their (Virgin) confirmation email.

Does anyone have experience with this airline?

Does the number I need/boarding pass come with my luggage tags for DME?

Should I call Disney again? I'm at 67 days and I want to make sure everything is taken care of ASAP.

You won't be able to check in until 24 hours before the flight. I would wait and see what comes with the DME mail, but would be willing to call to get the airline confirmation number.

You will need the airline confirmation number. You should get it now, just so you can keep an eye on your flights.

Thanks for all the replys, I called Disney again and was able to get my Confirmation for Virgin and select my seats. I really wish Disney had just sent this info with my original booking confirmation. Especially since the airfare was paid upfront and non refundable. Oh well, 66 days to go!

The poster is just using the incorrect airline code. The code for Virgin America is VX, not VA. No airline uses the code VA.

I'm not an airline employee. I'm a person. I use initials. Virgin America.

And I love the airline. Would use it exclusively if DH got to use it for work and got miles and if they had free bags LOL.

Not everyone has to use official codes all the time. I'm using a perfectly fine and correct abbreviation based on initials. And based on the poster stating what airline she was using. (wouldn't have spoken about V Aus, because I haven't flown them. Nor V Atlantic) (but I've heard they are all awesome)

Of course you can use airline abbreviations incorrectly; I don't care what you call them. People just won't understand what you're talking about.

I didn't ... though I got the first part to be Virgin because it was an airline and there are not that many that start with V, the second is always kind of up in the air with them (pun intended).

When talking airlines, SW, to me, is Air Namibia, while LUV or WN are Southwest Airlines, and JB is a contractor I work with. I use the IATA codes for shorthand, particularly for WN and B6, because they're more globally unique.

Besides, everybody here already uses at least one IATA abbreviation that's incongruous: Orlando International Airport isn't OI or OIA, it's MCO; and some people use ORD and YYZ as well.

As a frequent flyer, and frequent visitor at flyertalk.com, I recognize the airline code WN for Southwest. When we start making up new abbreviations, we're going to confuse more people. In the "Transportation" forum, it would seem appropriate to use the official transportation terms.

SW= Sea World. Although there's a five year old pinned thread for "SW Codes," so maybe SW is more common than I thought.
