Airline Ticket Confirmation

Hi

I have just received my flight tickets from e-bookers (shame I've got to wait until Christmas to use them!!). I also received a confirmed itinerary, but there was a paragraph which said that the flights should be confirmed directly with the airline 72 hours before departure.

Is this really necessary - I've never done this before. The flights are a Continental/Virgin codeshare, so I'm not even sure who I would confirm them with!

Hi, we don't usually, but our friends, who recently just came back from a holiday said they rang from their hotel and the flight time had been pushed pack by an hour or 2. That meant they didn't have to spend that time waiting at the Airport.

I would recommend a quick call to confirm with the airline. They can access your flight details from any of their offices and like stal says, there can be changes.

My colleague was flying back from LAX last year and they brought his flight FORWARDS by 4 hours. He arrived at the airport 10 mins after the gate closed and saw his plane taking off without him.

I am letting this be a lesson to me!!

Hi Maxine,

I am also travelling on a codeshare, and have put a question on another thread about who to check in with.

Mine are continental/virgin, but I was informed to check in at the Virgin desk by the helpful souls on this board.

I am going to ring Virgin and confirm the flight details I think - well I suppose its best to find both numbers just in case.

Hope you have a fantastic time.

Lynne

Hi

Lynne - I think there is a thread somewhere that says you can check in at the Virgin desk - and use twilight check in if you are flying from Gatwick.

I'd hate to get to the airport and find out that the flight had already left, so I'll give virgin/continental a call just to be on the safe side.

Thanks for the info guys.
I am going to check it out and try and find both airlines numbers, if i do I will post them

thanks
Lynne
