Airline thread on getting bumped where is it?

There used to be a thread on getting bumped from the airline. It had lots of info in it about how to do it and which is better, money vouchers or free flights. Does anyone know where it is. I looked through all of my sub. threads and couldn't find it, as it was a while back. I have been on her for two years but remember reading it and would like to find it again as our fight home has been sold out for over two months and we have almost 80 to go. Thanks

Rules for the dollars-off vouchers and rules for the round-trip vouchers vary. You can ask for rule sheets from a gate agent who is otherwise idle even on a day you are not flying.

Sometimes one dollars-off vouchers can be used only for one new flight and any "change" is forfeited. If the new flight costs more you add extra dollars to arrive at the fare.

Sometimes you cannot book a flight at the lowest on-line prices using a voucher.

Often round-trip vouchers can only be used to book seats in certain deep discount categories that may sell out fast or may not be available for all flights on all days.

Ask about the replacment flight before volunteering. Sometimes you are "on your own" which means you can only stand by. However (also ask first) you should come ahead of elites or platinums or premiers who are doing a voluntary standby or should be able to book any flight that is not already sold out.
