What are the largest and smallest commercial airplanes on which you’ve flown? Airlines, not private planes.

I flew several times on a Boeing 747, but never on the small upper deck. Also the DC 10 and L 1011. But I never flew on the Airbus 380, the full two story plane.

As for the smallest, I don’t know what type of plane it was. It had about 16 seats, 8 single seats on each side of a center aisle. There was no separate flight deck. The pilot and co-pilot were visible. The co-pilot turned around to give the safety instructions. He also loaded/unloaded the luggage into the hold.

It was a flight from Tampa to Naples, Florida. The plane continued to Key West.

I don’t remember the actual name of the airline, but it was doing business as USAir Express.

The smallest plane I’ve been on was my father-in-law’s. A 4 seater. Loved flying with him. We still have the runway on our farm. The next smallest was like the OP, about 8 seats on each side of the aisle and pilot/co-pilot were visible. The largest one was when I flew from Michigan to Texas with my parents for my favorite uncle’s funeral. There were two aisles, two seats on each side be the windows, then 5 seats in the middle if I remember correctly.

Funny thing, I was qualified to work a 747 (still remember the commands for the upper deck door evac) but I never worked or flew on it as my base didn't fly the routes it had.

Largest planes, 777, A350, L1011-500. (I loved working the L10 100 and 200 with the lower galley, that plane was before its time.)

Smallest plane that I can think of, Embraer EMB-120 Brasilia. Sat 40 people I think.

Smallest commercial would be the CRJ-200, aka The Devil's Chariot.

Largest would be a close tie between the 747-400 and 777-300. Depending on what measurement you are using one is bigger than the other but at the same time smaller than the other.

I have never flown a commercial prop plane but have flown in a Cessna 172 as a passenger.

Largest, probably 777 from Houston to Tokyo.

Smallest - I don't know the models, but either the flight I took from Charlotte to Myrtle Beach or from Miami to The Bahamas. Both of them were prop planes, maybe 12-16 passengers. The types of flights where they don't assign seats to you until they figure out how they want the weight distributed in the plane. :o

Largest was a DC-10, only widebody I've ever flown on. I've been in a 747 as part of a school fieldtrip in the late '80s.
Smallest is a Canadair CRJ-200, which I've had the unfortunate experience to fly on regularly this year from my local airport to Minneapolis and Chicago.

The largest plane I've been on is the A340-600. The flight was Lufthansa from Munich to Newark.

The smallest, and it is a commercial airline, was a Cessna Grand Caravan with Grand Canyon airlines. The flight was from Bar 10 Ranch to Marble Canyon, and I actually sat in the copilot seat.

The smallest jet was an ERJ-145. Once was American from Detroit to Philadelphia, and another was on United from Atlanta to Newark (I think? It was a while ago).

Flew the 380 on Singapore Airlines from JFK to Frankfurt last year in business on the upper deck, hard to go back to economy after that!

Smallest? Not sure what plane it was but it was over 20 years ago on US Airways from CAK to DTW on a plane with maybe 16 seats? This particular flight had me and 2 other passengers.

The largest plane I've ever flown on was to Toronto on AirCanada. I couldn't tell you what type of aircraft it was, but I was petrified because it was so big. I've only ever flown before and since on an Airbus A320, which are a less intimidating size.

747 many times, a few times in Business Class on the upper deck.

The smallest was one of those regional jets, maybe 30 seats in a 1 x 2 configuration.

I think many airlines who flew the A380 are retiring them.

The largest was the airbus A380 (I think that was the model) double decker we just did in July from Heathrow to Chicago. We were in the back of the second deck.

The smallest I don't know what it was but it was a propeller plane 2X1 seating, had some nervous times there feeling the dips and all more. There were storms in the area that I'm sure made it feel worse than it probably would be under normal conditions.

I've never been on a double decker plane. The largest would be the the 777-200 several times to Europe. Smallest was a prop plane from Orlando to the airport in Marathon, Florida in the Keys....maybe 32 people on the flight. We're taking a flight on another prop plane this winter from Panama City out to Bocas del Toro. It's a Fokker50...and seats....50, hence the name. Also haven't been on the 787 Dreamliner yet, but will be on that when we go to South Africa next year.

I guess the largest was JFK to Madrid (and back) way back in the day. The smallest is whatever flies from Indy to Florida on Allegiant (and back) but I’m not sure what kind of plane that is/was.
