Inspired by a post by @mmouse50 in the different thread. Given the information below, what seating arrangement would you book?
I (just myself) and 3 kids (3,5,9) traveling - which would be the best way to get seats? The kids in a row and me the aisle seat across from them? The 9 is pretty mature and motherly towards the other 2 or should I book the middle and aisle on both sides of the same row with me in the aisle seat across from the other 2?

With this situation, I would go 2/2. Being more special, I would put the 9 year old in the middle seat, with the 5 year old in the aisle, and then you in the aisle with the 3 year.

FWIW, I wouldn't seat a child next to a stranger. I would put them in the three across and sit in the aisle. Since the 9-year-old is more mature maybe they can sit in the middle and help manage siblings. Good luck!

I could see doing 2x2, 5 & 9 year old in Window/Middle and 3yo & adult immediately behind. One benefit here is two kids get window seats.

My default though would be 3yo, adult, 5yo, aisle, 9yo.

I would definitely sit the adult next to the 3 year old. To me, the real question is, in the event of an emergency would the 9 year old able to assist the 5 year old, with an oxygen mask for example? If yes, then I'd do 2 and 2. If unsure, I'd book 3 in one row and put the 9 year old across the aisle.
