as reported by AP today
An annual report being released today by two college based researchers found that the overall quality of air travel is deteriorating because more people are flying at a time when airlines have slashed their work forces.
Now for the good news. The following 4 airlines all managed to improve their service from 2003 to 2004
1. AirTran
2. Atlantic Soutwest
3. JetBlue
4. United
I know these 4 have also had many work force cuts but they were still able to improve their service levels. I would like to think that this is due to the caliber of their employees. I know from personal experience that good service comes from the bottom up not the top down. The best top management people can do nothing with bad employees, but even the worst people at the top cannot ruin a company with a good employee base [unless they fire them all].
